> 3 dayBIOS version on unit received was outdated. I was unable to update BIOS by any of the methods provided by intel. first attempt to install windows failed as nuc frozen on reboot. second attempt to install windows worked i was able to update BIOS from the windows package which prepared the nuc for booting into BIOS update program. So be prepared for some effort but I havent look back since getting going.

Greater than one weekThis NUC is an approximately lateral upgrade from an AMD FX-8370-based system in terms of CPU, yet uses only a fraction of the power. Its tremendously quieter than a mid-tower with several fans, and uses (relative to my old case) only1.4% of the volume of the mid-tower case I had. This is small enough to set on my monitors base for easy access to I/O. If I had no needs for that, Id look into using the VESA mount instead.

> 3 dayFinally figured out how to install the solid state drive and memory. Intels online support with bios and driver downloads is excellent. I think it will be an excellent replacement for my 5-year-old 5i3 NUC. YouTube is also a huge resource.

> 3 dayPurchased to build a Roon Core. Threw in a 256gb SSD, 16GB RAM, 2TB HHD. BAM!!! Running a rock solid R.O.C.K. that saved me $2000 off Roon’s NUCleus Plus (which is the EXACT same thing).

> 3 dayLove the size and power (for a laptop chip) of this Intel nuc. Easy setup, for RAM and HD, I bought a m.2 SSD. Just what I needed for power and ability.

31-10-2024Was looking for a compact PC with 6 core i7 CPU, this seemed to fit the bill. Unfortunately CPU pegged as soon as I tried to stream. Not sure if it is because of the low base clock speed, or something else. Ultimately had to return.

> 3 dayThis was a barebones kit. I got my own RAM and SSD, everything went together fine and the NUC even took Linux without a headache. Just make sure that you update your BIOS before trying to install ANYTHING, even Windows. I had the memory, storage, and OS installed in less than 45 minutes and have had zero issues with anything.
