> 3 dayThe full-sized SD card slot is non-functionally intermittent. I would have rather they stayed with the microSD slot.

> 3 dayThis tiny unit is really amazing, barebone buy is the best option for person who knows how to build one by watching many videos available on social media. one important thing to remember is to download all drivers from intel support page for this unit as its barebones no drivers are installed, so on first boot you will not have Bluetooth, Audio or Wifi capabilities even they are activated in BIOS. Once you do install all driver this little machine is fast quiet and just amazing.

> 3 dayUPDATE 1/3/2022: This machine seems to have developed problems starting up after being off overnight. If I re-try the startup, it works, and then there are no errors for the rest of the day. I suspect issues with the CMOS battery. Intel support for individuals/hobbyists is terribly lacking; I want to talk to someone but I cant find a phone number. Knocked off 2 stars because of this, and the next problem.

> 3 dayI loved everything about this device when I built it. its fast, small, efficient, everything I wanted. What I didnt think of before I ordered was Wi-Fi performance. The machine this replaced was a full size desktop with a PCI Wi-Fi card with an external antenna that had really good throughput/connectivity. This device doesnt even come close. There is a 3rd party that makes a replacement lid that has antennas, but theres no way Im doing this while the device is under warranty.

> 3 dayIve used NUCs before and have always liked them except for the fan noise. However, this particular NUC is very quiet and doesnt emit lot of fan noise at all. I installed all of the driver, firmware, and BIOS updates from Intel, installed M.2 drive, sata SSD drive, and RAM that are on Intels compatibility list, and everything on the machine is working great with Windows 10 Pro. No problems at all.

> 3 dayThis was a barebones kit. I got my own RAM and SSD, everything went together fine and the NUC even took Linux without a headache. Just make sure that you update your BIOS before trying to install ANYTHING, even Windows. I had the memory, storage, and OS installed in less than 45 minutes and have had zero issues with anything.

> 3 dayI needed a mini PC to run Kbuntu Linux and this unit fit the bill. It is mostly for applications and a bit of light gaming. I have 2 x Samsung 32GB DDR4 2666MHz SODIMMS, a Sabrent 2TB Rocket NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 Internal SSD and a Samsung SSD 860 EVO 2TB 2.5 Inch SATA III Internal SSD installed. All is working well so far. Note this is the 3rd NUC I have purchased and I really like them.

> 3 dayIts great. I use it for a Roon ROCK music device. Works like a charm, but boy the BIOS settings I needed to use to get it to boot from a USB and update the BIOS were a TOTAL pain. Legacy boot, yipes. But this is a solid machine - would happily make it my desktop - very powerful, chassis is a delight.

> 3 dayBIOS version on unit received was outdated. I was unable to update BIOS by any of the methods provided by intel. first attempt to install windows failed as nuc frozen on reboot. second attempt to install windows worked i was able to update BIOS from the windows package which prepared the nuc for booting into BIOS update program. So be prepared for some effort but I havent look back since getting going.
