Greater than one weekI just finished building a gaming & streaming PC for my son. I wanted the best Intel gaming processor available without going to the new i9 which still runs around $1000. This Intel Core i7-8086K Limited Edition Desktop Processor was exactly what I wanted. 6 cores & 12 threads. Its listed as 4 Ghz with 5 Ghz turbo, and I can confirm my ASUS PRIME Z370-A LGA1151 board had no issues setting the auto overclock to 5.2 Ghz for benchmarking & gaming. If you can afford this (currently @ $450ish on Amazon) you will not be disappointed. A+

> 3 dayThis CPU is the biggest shakeup to Intels consumer platform in years. You can finally achieve HEDT performance at a mainstream price point. Gaming is unbelievably smooth, if you own a high refresh rate monitor, this CPU should be your first pick. It made me realize my old R7 1700 (overclocked to 4Ghz, mind you) was severely bottlenecking my GTX 1080. I saw a 20 to 40 percent uplift in frame rate depending on the title. When I stream my games, Im no longer seeing my minimum frame rates tank like I did on Ryzen. Everything I throw at this CPU gets chewed up and spit out no problem...

Greater than one weekInsanely fast. Coming from a 2600k OC 4.4ghz 1.2v. Much less stuttering and frame drops in games. Overall faster and smoother experience. Main question for me was NVME vs SSD. The answer is, there isnt much noticeable difference when loading games and windows. Im about to have gigabit internet and I know NVME will definitely be useful. Started with the Hyper 212 Turbo and had decent temps. @4.7ghz synced. Little toasty under P95 and avx. Got up to 80C but thats not bad considering. I put it under water on my old EK block and temps are nice and cool. 68C max on P95. Running my 8700k @ 4.9 GHZ on 2 cores near stock vcore now. Temps stay a bit under 50C during most games. Very smooth experience. I did not buy it from amazon.
