HTC VIVE Virtual Reality System Tracker

> 24 hourThey do a pretty good job of tracking feet and waist movement. I primarily use them for VRChat for full-body tracking. They can get a little jittery at times, and they are very sensitive to any vaguely reflective surfaces that might be in the room, so youll have to cover any glass or glossy flat surfaces to avoid drift and jitter. They have a recurring, really stupid problem with powering on, however. Oftentimes, they will seem not to power on at all, with no light, but it will awaken SteamVR anyway and act like the tracker is tracking. However, it actually isnt at all. You have to close SteamVR, plug the tracker into the PC, reopen SteamVR, repeat in various combinations until the light actually comes on and tracks normally. I have this happen nearly every time I use them, and its happened with all three of my trackers (though not usually at the same time). Its incredibly frustrating, and is apparently due to the latest firmware update that happened *two years ago*. So dont expect it to be fixed anytime soon.

> 24 hourI bought a vive 3.0 directly from HTC, a physical store, and lastly Amazon and everything was identical. I got all the components brand new and had no issue connecting them to my pc. If you have been in vr for a while full body trackers make the whole experience extremely immersive and entertaining. The Vive trackers are always perfectly tracked whether its 2.0 or 3.0 trackers. The battery life is so much better on the new ones, so if you can spare the slight increase in price you can get almost double the hours. Just make sure you have plentiful USB ports to spare, base stations, at least 3 trackers, and dont forget straps are not included. (I recommend Tundra Labs for foot straps, and I have a positive opinion on Kiwi VR straps for a solid set of 3 body straps)

> 24 hourYup great. Got it, and base station to connect to computer for vrchat. I use Quest and have the software to go wireless and stream the quest to my computer. Now full body tracking. No wires holding me down besides the occasional charge when needed. Its great.

> 24 hourThe battery life is way better than 2.0s and I think it tracks better too. Compared to the Tundra trackers, its main competitor, the tracking is better but is also a little heavier and larger. The larger size does help prevent occlusion. I use this on the hip and Tundras on feet.

> 24 hourThey are easy to use I’m using them on my oculus and they track very well and I using one base station 2.0 to connect them and to track them, they are very light and I’m happy with them.

> 24 hourIve had a host of constant issues, and every person I have spoken to on VRChat has experienced similar problems. Once you have them working, theyre GREAT. The technology of full body tracking is amazing. The problem is, virtually every time I turn these things on, I have to reconfigure or troubleshoot something, or the entire thing. 4 out of 5 times I use them I have to re-pair, unpair, swap, relaunch, and do a bunch of fiddling to get everything working the way its supposed to. Its an enormous pain in the tush almost every time. I can change literally nothing in my configuration, and have to reconfigure it next time I use it. Its nonsensical. One of the pucks also refuses to power on when I press the button, unless I first plug it into my PC. It wont power on when plugged into a USB charger, it will only turn on when plugged into a PC USB port. Its not a matter of a defective battery or being uncharged, because once its on, it stays on for hours. What could cause such a strange issue, I dont know. Defective right out of the box and Ill need to send it back for replacement. Pain in the tush.

> 24 hourI can play with my feet now, Im... not super into that but I found some enjoyment doing all the funny poses. my online friends sure were happy, so I think the trackers are doing a good job of that. to call these good trackers is a bit arbitrary, there isnt any other solution (other than the Kinect) for full-body atm. I mean, they are just gizmos that allow for extra tracked body parts. what else are ya gonna need? other than 3 of these and the belt straps?
