> 24 hourI dont know if its just me, but it felt impossible to work with. Ive used a few different headsets and this is the only type that had these issues. Issues i ran into were: Very very uncomfortable to wear, gave me very severe headaches. Ive never had this with other headsets, but this could just be an issue of my head shape? Unsure. Very blurry. I wear glasses, so like other headsets, i kept them on inside the headset. This proved to be problematic, as no matter where i looked, it was very blurry. I had to adjust it for a long time every time i put the headset on, and if i moved around too much, it would get blurry again. This made it very hard to do anything. Glasses off did not help any, for the record. The controllers were not very intuitive at all, and honestly were somewhat deceptive. They look just like oculus rifts touch controllers, so one would assume they were also touch controllers. This is not the case. They are in fact, not even slightly touch based. One of the joysticks were also off by an annoying margin. So if you wanted to move left, youd have to move the joystick left and down, or it would just make you go up. This all said, i feel like these issues would vary person to person. A bit more reading and research than i did is recommended for purchases like these. The tracking was about what you would expect with a camera based tracking headset, limited, but functional. If you want better tracking you can even replace the faceplate and get lighthouse sensors. A big +. Would i recommend buying? Depends. If you have a big budget and plan on getting the external tracking, yes. If youre just looking for a casual experience in VR, then get the oculus rift S. Its far cheaper. This thing is for people who plan on getting external tracking on an updated headset. The price reflects this. If youre reading this during the period where the oculus is out of stock and want to know if you should buy this instead of waiting, the answer is dont do it. This is a very expensive purchase compared to oculus. Not for casual experiences.

> 24 hourThis headset would overheat after 1 to 2 hours of play time and the picture would go black and restart constantly, the fit was not very comfortable either so I couldnt imagine leaving it on for more than 3 hours anyway. As a company I would advise not doing business with HTC, they have a strict no refund policy when it comes to their online games service. I started the 14 day free trial but did not find many games that were fun to play for longer than 30 minutes. Before the end of the trial I could not log in to my account to cancel, I opened a ticket with customer support because even after resetting my password I was still unable to get in. Support took 3 days to fix the situation and I had gone past the free trial end date and they charged my account for a years subscription. I explained to customer support in a separate ticket about my situation, receiving a defective product, being unable to log in to cancel my free trial, and requesting a refund only 2 days after it started. They refused me flat out and kept quoting their no refund policy. So now I am stuck with a years subscription to a service I cannot even use. Not recommended, there are far better VR systems out there for a similar or cheaper price.

> 24 hourThis is probably the worst thing you could purchase for a VR setup. If your only goal is to sit in a chair and look at a VR world then youll be fine. But if your goal is actually play a game or two, FORGET IT! The tracking is horrible, even just sitting in a chair the controllers keep losing their places ALL THE TIME! I finally got sick of it and decided to upgrade, but heres what they DONT TELL YOU. In order to upgrade youll need at least 2 base stations at $200 each, a new faceplate for the headset at $200, as well as 2 new controllers BECAUSE THE NEW DESIGN CONTROLLERS WONT WORK WITH THIS SYSTEM... and they run $150 each! All in Im looking at $1,600 to upgrade my set up because the tracking is insanely terrible, meanwhile theyre selling it as a package deal for $900! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GARBAGE!

> 24 hourBest Black Friday gift to myself I could ask for. The only thing i disliked is the foam facepad, and thats an easy 15$ fix. The tracking is great and the lighting needs arent nearly as bad as people are saying. Maybe someone should have explained that the tracking cameras arent meant for a blacked out room. Have some common sense people and turn on a dimmable lamp. Its not that hard and way cheaper than buying base stations. This device is borderline mobile if you have a gaming laptop that is powerful enough for VR. I have it hooked up to my Alienware Laptop and can take it with me to my University courses. Its great being able to do walkthroughs in Architectural models! This device isnt that old, so grab those firmware updates as they come. many of those launch isdues have been fixed. And for everyone whining and telling you to just buy an Oculus cause its way cheaper please consider the following: Oculus is now owned by facebook. Every oculus game is now attatched to your facebook account. So feel free to let Daddy Z tell everyone about your big tiddy VR anime waifus and second life account. He already telling them everything else.

> 24 hourThere are so many flaws with the cosmos that its surprising it made it past testing. The amount of light you need in your room of choice has to be about the brightness of the sun for the headset to even work. The controllers dont track well at all and jump all over the place. Didnt come with the required cables for a vr ready laptop (stupid mini display port). Many games i was looking forward to playing dont even work with the cosmos (windlands 2). At least it looks nice both inside (assuming you can get it to work) and outside. Get any other headset.

> 24 hourI can only compare the Vive Cosmos to the Oculus Rift S, which was my first entry into VR. Whats good: The image quality is quite good; the ergonomics of the headset are generally good (with an exception, noted below), the sound quality in the attached headphones is decent, and it has a knob for adjusting IPD. Whats not so good: The sweet spot for best image quality is small and hard to maintain; because the headset flips up, it doesnt press against the face, so theres quite a lot of light leakage; theres also no way to adjust how close the lenses are to your eyes; the headphones are also kind of fussy, and dont always stay clicked into place against my ears, at least. The deal-breaker: the controllers are heavy, awkward, and energy-hungry; the inside-out tracking, as implemented, is just awful, with a lot of drift and loss of location, which makes it unusable even for a standard VR game like Beat Saber. I have returned this product for refund.

> 24 hourBought this product while I was on deployment during a black friday sale, and was not able to use or do anything with it until I came back this June. Was initially excited about it, but even after all the updates to improve the supposed issues the tracking is still really bad. And on top of all of that, due to my deployment I am long past the ability to return it, and I dont think I could in good conscious sell this to someone, so now Im stuck with it. And to upgrade it so that it has external tracking (which would fix all the issues) you need to spend $200 on the faceplate, another $300 on the external SteamVR 2.0 base stations, then another $250 on the Index knuckle grips, so to fix the issues with the head set you need to spend another $650ish, your better off just getting the Valve Index instead, or just getting the HTC Vive Cosmos Elite instead. Do not get this product.

> 24 hourWhat I disliked about the product was the not available mini display port the adapter for gaming laptops. What I liked was the high resolution screens and pass_through mode. I used it for Flight simulator and space exploring.

> 24 hourI have owned the first version HTC Vive since its release and was expecting the Cosmos to be a significant advancement from the original. Unfortunately that is not the case. The “screen door” effect is still plainly visible, the headset is more finicky than the original, very narrow field for optimal viewing, and it still has a noticeable VR sickness after extended gameplay due to the “screen door” effect. If the headset moves a millimeter while you are playing all details are completely blurred out making it impossible to read written dialogue or see the graphically rich details of games. I do not think it is worth the cost to upgrade from the Vive to the Cosmos. Hopefully HTC or one of their competitors will create something truly revolutionary that justifies the cost of upgrading.

> 24 hourI bought this during black Friday with 20% off amazon warehouses products including a $100 price drop against new. In the end cost about 450 for the vive cosmos. It did arrive in its original packaging, but in the box all the wrappers were just stuffed in there and none of the components were in their original wrapping?!? So it didnt look like new but there was no damage on any of the components and it worked fine. I also purchased the wireless adapter and mount and it took me a while to get it all working. Have to take the headset foam/cushions out to install the new cable and the mount for the wireless. It took me about 2hours to get it all working. There were some quirks too like sometimes it would give me an error code to reboot the computer and if I did it would hang on reboot or at least my monitor display wouldnt come up but if you reboot again then it all worked again. This seemed to be due to improper shutdown or startup as the documentation for such things is non-existent. Still not sure how you are suppose to shutdown. But all the complaints about cosmos seems exaggerated or something. Tracking is just fine as good as the oculus quest that my kids play with. Its actually much more comfortable fit than oculus quest. The sweetspot is not any better or worse compared to quest either. They are all a blurrier as you shift your eyes to the edges. I wear glasses so maybe that is contributing. Room setup is more poor interface design as I couldnt figure out how to reset playroom other than from the menu from my pc not directly from my headset. The directions that I looked up on the webpage also didnt match my screens so they were just confusing and wasting time. The product is good and the wireless experience for pc driven is very good. The quality of games significantly and undeniably better than Oculus Quest. I am satisfied with my purchase and I think it is a good choice. I have not tried the valve index, but everyone says good good things about it so this is in reference to oculus quest. Cosmos is far better than quest even with oculus link that is very interesting, but doesnt work quite as well.
