Having tried true wireless sets before, and being unimpressed, I was a bit skeptical of these. I expected tinny sound, at least mild difficulties connecting, and weak battery life. But given HTCs reputation for solid products, I thought maybe theirs would be better. I was pleasantly surprised in the extreme! Connection was quick and easy, got it on the first try(not always the case with cheaper sets.) The case charges up quickly, as do the buds, and the batteries last at least as long as advertised. Insofar as the sound quality, I was completely satisfied. Now, Im no audiophile. I typically listen to books rather than music. But the sound was clear and full, with none of the tinny tones Id experienced with other sets. Although Im not a huge fan of having stuff in my ears (Ive used a bone conduction set as my main for years now) these buds fit snugly in my ears, were very light, and generally very well-formed. They never got uncomfortable no matter how long I wore them, which is something Ive struggled with even when using quality sets. At only $70, I highly recommend!

Easy to connect, sound is amazingly great, very sleek look and fits perfect in my ear. I love ear buds and this by far is one of the best ive had. It doesnt move while im in spin class and when out for a brisk walk. The noise cancellation is ok but im one to still want to hear whats going on around me. Very good product and at a good price.

These buds sound awesome. Sound is crisp and bass is soft. They stay in place and super comfortable. They are neck to neck with my Galaxy Buds Pro that cost double the price. These are my new favorite gym buds.

It’s taken me a while to get this to where they are comfortable for long term use. I’m not sure I love noise cancelling because I feel like I’m cut off from the world. However, these did pair quickly and easily and the sound is good. Once I got them adjusted to my ears, they stay in and are fairly comfortable. I know I’m not maximizing the benefits by using just one most of the time but it balances my need to be aware of what’s going on around me (and I still get to listen to my tunes or an audiobook - my newest addiction).

The market for true wireless earbuds has exploded recently - with every major electronics firm releasing their own take (or at least, that’s the way it seems). As a mobile phone manufacturer, it was only a matter of time before HTC jumped into this market - and their offering here is more than just competitive - it’s outstanding. These earbuds have all the features that you would expect - a case that charges via USB-C that then charges the earbuds themselves, multiple microphones for picking up your voice and not background noise that you’d rather avoid, active noise cancelling w/ hear through mode and multiple interchangeable tips to get just the right fit. And it all works, really well - the features work and are easy to use, the earbuds are comfortable and, most importantly, the sound is good - very good. And what more can you ask than that? Definitely worth your time to check out, certainly recommended!

I am not as familiar with other HTC products but I did recognize the name so I decided to give them a try. After giving them a try, I think this is a solid choice. It has a nice design, and comes in white for those looking for a non-gray/black color option. They are able to cancel out noise immediately, so one sided use might work well most of the time unless you want the surround sound noise cancellation experience. They have decent volume and connect pretty easily. I also like that the battery uses USB type-C. The only con is that there is no button anywhere on the case (that I am aware of)so it makes you feel like you cant troubleshoot or fix any buggy issues. It is seldom buggy but a good charge and replacing of headphones in and out of the case tends to fix any bugs. Overall, it is a solid choice.

could actually get them out of the charging box Since I left this review its now ⅓ the price. Left this review when they were $60+. Would still happily pay $60+ to get theses if I had too cause they are poor mans bosewave or Sony. Crush everything priced 3 times higher. If I was smart I would get a spare. If nobody starts to notice the quality of these I bet they give up. No hype just like getting what I pay for. Havent gotten more than I paid for in a while(try as I might).

Its quick and easy to set up. The box doesnt push any app, so I didnt look for one. The touch controls are straight forward, but its just to easy to activate... I kept pausing/unpausing when I brush my hair back, or adjust the fit. They didnt keep in my ears very well, but it wasnt horrible... it comes with some replacement buds, but they just didnt brace against my cartilage well. When the case is unplugged, and the buds are inside charging, the case lets out this aweful squeeling/electronics noise - I am somewhat sensitive to this type of electronic noise, but this is the only time Ive noticed it with this style of earbud - these being the 5th Ive tried in recent months. The best thing about these earbuds is the nice and wide soundstage. The imaging is decent, but it has so much room to work with, that you get great stereoscopic effects in songs and movies. Its impressive for earbuds, which are usually very narrow and in your head. The bass especially sounds more distant, but still powerful. Once I got over this, and started diving into more technical songs, my reference songs sounded off... so I did some pure-tone testing to see what type of distortion these were putting off. Not all distortion is bad, there is such a thing as Harmonic distortion, and when done right it can add a nice element to music and other audio media. Harmonic distortion adds additional notes that are the same (or complimentary) note as the original, just stepped up or down an octave... but these notes should be very quiet and barely audible (if theyre on purpose). In the case of these HTC True Wireless Earbuds, there is a loud 2nd order Harmonic Distortion in the 20-78Hz range, and in the 1100-3000ish Hz range. Not only is the distortion loud, its squared off and sharp sounding... which is not good, but because its Harmonic distortion, MOST people will not notice this. In the case of the 20-78Hz distortion, it actually will make the bass sound louder and more full, but at the significant cost of clarity and accuracy... and its even a little bit bleedy (drowns out mid-range a bit). Thats not all for distortion though. The above described distortion is okay, especially in this price range... but there is an oscillating distortion ranging from 1,500-16,000Hz (yes, from Upper midrange to the top of most peoples hearing range). Starting very quiet, and growing to be the same volume as the primary tone by about 8000Hz, the distortion does not match the primary sound, and oscillates/waves up and down as the primary tone climbs the scale. By the time it hits 11-12kHz, I cant even hear the primary tone at all until about 15kHz... In other words, from 8000Hz and up, the frequency the earbuds are just straight playing the wrong note. This is terrible performance, and is the second time Ive encountered this in wireless earbuds, and even at the low price of $70, it is inexcusably bad performance. The general signature is V shaped, with warm and fuzzy bass, a very wide platform peak from 2500-5500Hz (loudest at 5000Hz) and another peak at 7000Hz. Beyond that, the distortion makes it hard to pick much out. The ANC is good, it cuts down most of the background noise and significantly reduces incidental noises, making low volume music able to drown the world out pretty well. For the price, this is good performance, even above par. Calls are good on these. The microphones reject background noise pretty well, and my voice sounds pretty good... just dont brush your hair back, as you might hang up on the caller. You CAN use one earbud at the same time, with the other charging. I really do like the soundstage on these, and theyre fun headphones for some songs... and even in spite of the distortion (somehow... especially with the distortion in the presence frequency range of 4-6kHz) the imaging makes these great for positional audio. Unfortunately, the distortion just wrecks any song with strong treble and air frequencies... which makes it basically impossible for me to use these as daily drivers.
