I ended up having to return it because I ordered the wrong one, but theres absolutely nothing wrong with the pet+ version at all. It worked really well! I look forward to receiving the version with the hose attachment.

Overall it’s a great product. The only thing bothering me is the fact that I have to fill in the water and clean the filter every 2 or 3 minutes. I Would have liked it to go a bit longer. Beside that small drawback, it’s definitely worth every single penny. It works great, super easy to maneuver, and cleans deep dirt. This is 5 years of dirt that I just cleaned. I’m so happy and feel so good to have a clean carpet. I ran out of cleaning solution and had to stop the cleaning session, but the result is great so far.

I bought this carpet cleaner because I was looking for something that was easier to maneuver than my full-sized carpet shampooer. I love how lightweight it is. The water reservoirs are smaller, so you need to fill/dump more often, but I expected this as a trade off. The PowerDash cleaned very effectively. Im very happy with the results. I have to go over the area cleaned 3 times to extract all the water, but I have to do the same thing with my big shampooer. I read some complaints about this in reviews, but I really dont see how an carpet cleaner would extract the shampoo an more effectively without damaging the carpet. This is a compact carpet cleaner and it doesnt clean as wide a path as a full-size machine. But, if you prioritize having a lightweight solution over getting the job done faster, the Hoover PowerDash Pet Advanced Compact Carpet Cleaner will probably work well for you.

I used the Hoover PowerDash on multiple light-colored 8X10 area rugs around my home and was really impressed with how much deep-set dirt & soil this compact cleaner pulled up. We have cats, and we also have the area rugs in high foot traffic areas of our home. After about 2 1/2 years of just using a regular vacuum on our rugs, I noticed the gray & cream colors were looking dingy. There were also a few faint stains on our family room rug from normal living wear & tear. I ordered this PowerDash based on positive reviews, and I am really glad I did. For the liquid formula I poured into the cleaner, I used the Bissel Pro Max Clean & Protect liquid formula for Upright Carpet Cleaners, and poured it in this Hoover Power Dash Upright Pet Carpet Cleaner with warm water, following the instructions that come with the Hoover Power Dash Cleaner. After one cleaning, my rugs look completely revived. My husband and I were shocked at how much dirt was in the rugs that we did not even realize. The Cleaner also lifted the faded stains, some that had been set for a good 2 years. I forgot how bright my rugs originally were! The PowerDash cleaner is lightweight and easy to assemble & to use. I also found it relatively easy to clean out the dirty water container. It just requires you to dump the dirty water and then you may have to pull out a few clumps of carpet fiber that the cleaner lifts because of the strong suction. A few tips: definitely use warm water, and go slowly when pushing & pulling the Cleaner during use. The clean water/formula tank is small, so I had to fill it twice to clean the full surface of one 8X10 area rug. The process of filling the water/formula tank is really easy so it is not a big deal, but I would recommend buying an extra bottle of the liquid cleaner to have on hand for cleaning if you plan to clean larger surface areas. All but one of our rugs were brand new 2 1/2 years ago when we moved into our home. The new thicker rugs all washed up really well and felt soft & fresh after the cleaning. The only advice I would give is to be careful with older or more delicate rugs. The suction of the carpet cleaner is strong, so it does suck up carpet fibers. We have one hall rug that is a little older/thinner, and the carpet fibers on that rug were a little delicate/brittle for the suction of the PowerDash. The rug is clean after use, but you can almost see where some of the fibers on this older rug were thinned out from the cleaning. But on all of our newer, thicker rugs, the cleaner sucked up the dirt & soil beautifully and left the rugs feeling really soft and clean. Overall, super pleased with this purchase. I am impressed with how powerful this cleaner is for something so lightweight and relatively inexpensive compared with other cleaners.

This particular version of the Hoover line of carpet cleaners is truly a 5-star product because every aspect of it, from design to operation and maintenance, appears to have been successfully thought through and seemingly improved from what I read about earlier or less expensive models. This model is great for cleaning up small areas with pet messes or dirt. Its not meant to be a whole-house solution (like the Bissell Green Machine), but it does what it advertises. Its lightweight and easy to maneuver; it is easy to fill the cleaning tank with water and cleaning fluid; its super-easy to see how much cleaning solution is left because its made of clear plastic. Emptying the dirty water tank and removing the brush roll cover are not quite as graceful but work reasonably well. The model comes with really good accessories, including a brush cleaning tool and very helpfully, an attachment that enables the cleaning of stairs. Hoover has created very good, to-the-point YouTube videos explaining how to operate the cleaner, how to clean it, and also another video on advanced maintenance.

I got this vacuum a year ago to help deep clean some rental carpets for my infant son who start crawling. Being on the floor w him all the time made me realize how foul the carpets were. This rug cleaner definitely helped as evidenced by the disgusting water it sucked up. I didn’t review this at that time but it was awesome. Now a year later I am using it again to clean some HORRENDOUS carpets in a house I got and it was worth reviewing now. Ease of use: definitely easy to use. I skimmed the instructions for 30 seconds, confirmed things w the unit itself. and was an expert. Efficacy: it’s definitely effective. It is not the kind you rent from HD or Lowe’s but it is good enough for you to clean carpets with for sure. It’s most effective on area rugs, as large sq. Ft carpet coverings take too long to do to come out well with this particular item. Speed: lol this thing is the opposite of speed. But that’s okay, it needs time to suck up nastiness. Slow and low is the tempo with this. Release the solution and push the vacuum forward slowly, and do that same thing when you’re extracting. I go suppppeerrr slloowwwww while extracting. The faster you the less you’ll get out of this cleaner. You really just do this very very slowly. It is a full day affair. Practicality: middle of the road. The dirty water canister maxes out halfway up the canister which I don’t understand but okay. When it maxes out the vacuum with get high pitched and stop sucking. It’s easy to release the canister and dump out but that canister can get nasty so rinse it out w clean water and shake it around a little. The shampoo/solution gets used up really quickly. All of a sudden you’re like where the heck is all solution?! So just be ready to stop and empty out/refill frequently during a big job. Like really frequently. I’d say I have to stop snd empty the tank / refill the solution container about 10 times a session? It’s a lot. And pretty annoying. That’s tank should hold more. And the solution goes down super fast. You just fill it and it already seems empty. It is not designed for huge carpets but so far I’ve used it almost entirely for rooms completely carpeted lol. So. Do with that what you will. Important to know: a few things. This cleaner is not a vacuum. It does not like to suck anything up but dirt and nasty water. You’re supposed to do a really thorough vacuuming prior to using this. I didn’t use one but I recommend one of those lily brushes, the kind that you scrape over a rug or fabric and it gets up all the hair and crap. I need one of those badly. But anyway the carpets I used this with just this week literally had about an inch of dog hair embedded into it that you couldn’t see. The carpet is a blue grey color. This vacuum did NOT appreciate any of it. It spits it out. It kind of accumulates it in the spinner and I had to manually finger that crap out of there over and over and over. To the point I had a four inch high mountain of clumps of hair. It was FOUULLLLL. Every few minutes a huge chunk would shoot out of the bottom or I’d notice the roller wasn’t spinning anymore and I’d stop it all and scrape it out. My pics are of the nasty carpet before and after. One is without flash one is with flash. Such a huge difference! This was with one pass of the extracting vacuum, One night to dry out, and then one more pass with the vacuum. Tomorrow I will vacuum it with an actual vacuum and get up all the remaining hair and it should be good. I’ll never get all the stains and wear and tear out. But it’s clean and significantly better. I have two more rooms to do. They won’t need as much. This cleaner will handle them fine. I like this thing and it saved me $60 and driving back and forth renting the carpet genie. You just have to know it’s quirks. Update, did another room: I added a couple pics from the next room I did. All in all this is taking farrrr longer than I anticipated but it is worth it seeing the before and afters. This room wasn’t as badly soiled as the first one but still had a really really noticeable and gross looking path of wear and tear on it that needed to go. This is going to be a child bedroom after all. This room was much easier and turned out better faster than the other room. One of the pics I show half the carpet done and half the carpet not done. Obvious difference a one pass. The other pics are of the same general spots before and after. This room took about an hour and change. I have one more room to do same carpet same sort of issue w the track path of wear and tear. After all is said and done I will have spent about 4.5 hours on the rooms. I only have hour chunks each night to work on these rooms but if I’d had an entire actual full day the two cleaner rooms would have been doable in one day together. The heavily soiled room Needed multiple days so it could dry and be ready for vacuuming and another pass. This thing is definitely earning its keep that’s for sure.

I wasnt expecting much, but this little cleaner has good power. We have pets at home, and this does a great job collecting so much fur from our rugs. We also have a couple aquariums at home, and twice Ive used this to gather up water after a leak. I just wish there was a way to lift up the brush panel so that I can clean out the nasty fur thats collected on it, but thats my only gripe.

I love this thing. The pictures speak for themselves! I have two big dogs who track a lot of dirt and mud inside and this thing makes my carpet look brand new.
