> 3 dayI have 3 dogs, one of which has recently had a stroke & suffers from incontinence. This carpet cleaner has made a huge difference in getting my carpets all the way clean and spot cleaning as well. HIGHLY recommend!!

> 3 dayOverall, Im pleased with this Hoover carpet cleaner. We have several large area rugs in our newly built home that havent been cleaned (only vacuumed) since we moved in 18 months ago. We were thinking about getting a professional rug cleaner to do the job, but saw that this carpet cleaner would cost less than a one time cleaning by a professional. The reviews were good so we decided to give it a try. Unpacking and assembly was very easy. No tools required. The quick use guide was good if youre the kind of person that doesnt want to take the time to read the entire manual. The manual itself goes into just the right amount of detail to tell you everything you need to know. The machine is very easy to use. Just put warm water into the tank up to the first fill line. Then add the cleaning formula up to the second fill line. The two fill lines take the guess work out of how much formula to use (as long as youre using the correct formula for the machine). Dumping the waste water is easy... just squeeze the handle on top, lift out, dump and reinsert. The machine is very light and easy to handle. Its a very easy machine to use. As far as cleaning, the machine does a pretty good job cleaning my rugs. The waste water was a very dark brown, so it definitely sucked a lot of dirt out. Visually, it was apparent that our rugs looked much cleaner after cleaning them with this machine. So, I am pleased with the result. Especially considering that this machine only cost us $99.00. There were a few spots on our rugs the machine did not get up. So I used my Bissell spot cleaning machine to get those out. Some dirty spots just require a little more muscle and time. One cleaning note - the warm water, formula and scrubbing this machine does will definitely loosen the dirt. But if you rush going back over the carpet to suck out the dirty water, the results wont be as good. I found that a couple of extra passes over the carpet with just the suction on to suck out all the dirty water possible will bring better results. Does this machine clean as well as a professional cleaning? Probably not, especially on deep rugs and carpet. But I dont believe there is much difference between the effectiveness of the two options. If youre willing to purchase this thing and do the work yourself as opposed to using a professional, youll save a lot of money. The question now is, how long will this machine last? Some of the reviews indicate it could die within a year or two. I guess it depends partly on how often you use it. But if I get two years out it, it will be worth the purchase. What would I change about this little rug cleaner? First of all, I wish the electrical cord was longer, but its not a big deal. Second, I wish the two tanks held more water. You have to empty the waste tank and refill the clean water tank often. To clean 5 large rugs and 4 smaller rugs in my home, I refilled the clean water tank a dozen times. I dumped the waster water tank 7 times. Its a bit aggravating to have to refill and dump so many items. But I guess its a trade off to make the machine lighter and easier to handle. I only found one problem with the machine. The machine is designed to stop vacuuming whenever the waste tank is full. There is a full tank line on the waste container. The problem is that the machine stops vacuuming before the full tank line is reached. It took me a little time to figure out what the heck was going on when it stopped vacuuming. Once you know it will stop vacuuming a little short of the line, its not a big deal. But I want to mention it in case those reading this review experienced the same problem. So, I do recommend this machine. Its does a nice job cleaning carpet and rugs. It will save you money if youre willing to do the work yourself.

> 3 dayI bought this Hoover PowerDash Pet machine and was impressed. Firstly, I thought that my delivery would have taken a week, I got it within two days. Thanks Amazon. It is simple to assemble. It comes with a 6 ounce bottle of Hoover deep clean neutralizer. The key to using this is SLOW movement. It cleaned and sucked up the dirt. My rug was not dripping wet. I just finished cleaning about 15 minutes ago and it is nearly dry. The proof of all the dirt was in the dirty water container. I have a Bissell Little Green Clean Machine. It does well for spot treating, but at one point I was using it to clean the whole rug. Let’s just say my back wasn’t to happy about that. The first picture shows how dirty the carpet is. I have a dog and a cat. The second picture shows how clean it became. After I was finished cleaning, I took off the removable nozzle and rinsed it clean. I flipped up the machine, unscrewed the bottom and cleaned the brush head and surrounding area. There was soo much fur, but it was a breeze to clean. For the price, I paid $112 in total. I heard a lot of things about Hoover and wanted to try it out. I’m very happy with my purchase.

> 3 dayWe have 23 year-old carpet. Planning to replace with hard flooring, but we have a 3 month old puppy, so...waiting until hes potty trained. Anyway, I vacuum once a week (more if necessary) with a Dyson vacuum. I steam clean the carpet at least once a year (just me, the hubby and 2 dogs, so not tons of foot traffic). We always remove our shoes in our mudroom, and dogs enter/exit through there too. When I went to clean my carpet this weekend, my old heavy Hoover died half-way through my living room. I hopped online, frustrated I couldnt get my weekend project done, and not looking forward to spending a fortune on a new unit. I found this on Amazon and couldnt believe an inexpensive cleaner would do a good job, but the reviews were good AND I could get it overnight! I could still get the project done over the weekend! As promised, the machine was delivered right away in the morning. Assembly was a breeze (handle, post, water reservoir and dirty water reservoir). I LOVE that the on/off power is a foot pedal! Genius! I love the lightweight design, too. Pushing/pulling this Hoover around my living room was SO much easier on my back and knees than my last dinosaur! 3 downsides: This unit isnt as wide, so it takes more passes to clean each room. The water reservoirs are also smaller, so more trips to add water and dump dirty water. Cleaning this machine after use and before storing it is a bit involved. To remove the brush roller to clean, 6 screws need to be removed to take it out. BUT...those 3 minor downsides are MORE than made up for by how FLOORED I was (see what I did there?) at how great this unit performed! My carpet is dark beige, and I thought it wasnt dirty. My old unit died half-way through my living room, so I went back over that already-cleaned part first to get used to the new machine. OMG, the dirt, hair, fuzz and sand (where the heck???) that came out of the cleaned area!! I cleaned 4 foot square sections at a time (shampoo solution first, then back over with only water, then back over a 3rd time to remove as much moisture as possible). Ew, the stuff I got out was incredible. The powerful suction of this little Hoover did a great job of removing water, but also raising the nap of the carpet! My carpet doesnt look new, but it looks SO much better, feels clean and soft. For the price, you cant go wrong with this little powerhouse! So glad I took a chance and bought it!

> 3 dayI have a lot of old terrible carpet that Ive struggled to keep clean. This finally got up crap that was so deep I thought it was part of the carpet now. Maybe Im not going over it enough but it doesnt seem to fully dry. Still though, it gets the job done.
