11-11-2024I have a low pile rug in my living room and it was impossible to keep it clean. I have one medium hair cat and this rug is her favorite place to hang out. It is a 10 x 12 rug and it was taking me, no lie, over 2 hours to vacuum or clean and it still looked awful. I decided to try to get a shampooer especially designed for removing animal hair. This model appealed to me due to it being described as lightweight but still having great suction. That is it in a nutshell. I had a Hoover carpet cleaner for 20 years and it worked great, my only quibble was the weight, had to be over 20 pounds so my carpets werent cleaned as much as they should. This machine is perfect for my needs. I would read the other reviews, it works best when you take your time, put down a small area with solution, then SLOWLY go over it to remove all the water. If you sweep like a vacuum, using more speed to vacuum will actually take more time. Assembly takes about 5 minutes tops, and the directions to assemble and use is included and straightforward. A small bottle of cleaning solution is included, probably for three or our tanks. The suction on this small machine is incredible. You could feel the machine almost latch on to the carpet and I felt like the solution was getting deep into the surface and then really getting sucked out. I had high suction only until the supply canister of water/cleaner was just about out. I did no prep work on the carpet so it was absolutely full of cat hair, shredded paper, dirt, etc. Since this was the first time cleaning, I wanted to get it as clean as possible, and I needed a little bit of time to see how to best operate it. An hour later, the rug was shampooed and it took about an hour. The collection pail water was very dark brown, which was gross but not as gross as realizing I was walking on it and my cat was rolling around in it. The price was fantastic well under $100. I would expect it be well over $100. I rent out furnished apartments and Im going to buy at least one more machine to use for my business. Its an excellent investment, particularly if you own an animal or if you rent to individuals who have animals. 5/5 stars:: excellent machine!

Greater than one weekI had a good eureka carpet cleaner but sadly it doesn’t work anymore. After much research and reading tones of reviews, I decided to get this Hoover because research and reviews stated it worked good on “Pet” cleaning stains. I must say, I am satisfied with cleaner. It worked great at pulling up dirt and pet hair from carpet. One thing that wasn’t desirable was when I turned off the cleaner to empty there was dirty water puddled out. I’m am sure if this is normal or a problem. I did get the rubber mat and sat the cleaner on it so most of the water coming would be on it and not on the carpet.

> 3 dayWe got a new puppy, and accidents happen. Our house is half carpet and half hardwood. While the carpet is by no means great looking, we wanted to avoid creating spots that would attract more problems. Upon arrival, the machine was very easy to put together. Suction and drying seem to be exactly as advertised. Area and regular carpets are dry to the touch in 30 minutes. I did one of our area rugs, which as not been cleaned in 10 years. While I would not call the results amazing, or like new, I was happy with the results. Much nicer to look at now. I only gave 4 overall stars for two reasons. We have always had cats and dogs in the house, and it is amazing how much hair can be in a carpet and you not see it. I have a Dyson vac that I think does a great job, considering what I see in the catch bucket. But, when I cleaned with the Hoover, lots of balls of hair were showing up. They were not sucked up by the Hoover. They just kind of gathered up in golf ball sized clumps. Not a big deal, and some of the hair was being sucked into the machine. On the plus side, it WAS pulling the hair out of the carpet. The other reason was that the machine tends to dribble if it sits, turned off. Like, a tablespoon or two of liquid will be on the hardwood after 5 minutes of being off. So, be careful where you leave it, and be sure to take the bottle out if you are done. I keep the solution bottle filled, out of the machine, where I store it in the closet. When we have a mistake, it is easy to pull out, clean up, empty the catch container, and put away. Maybe 5 minutes for the whole process, which is a LOT better than getting on your hands and knees trying to sop the mess up with a towel. In summary, this is NOT a whole house rug cleaner. It could be, I guess, but there are better options for that. It IS an excellent spot cleaner. Light, easy to use, and effective. Update- 2 weeks later In the last 2 weeks, aside from cleaning mistakes, I have cleaned a 12x12 Area Rug, a 14x14 Herringbone (?) carpet in the computer room, and the plain short pile carpet in the bedroom. As I said earlier, this is not designed as a whole house rug cleaner. However, as I have learned, if you take a little time, and dont mind filling the bottle frequently, it does the same GREAT job on large carpets. Out bedroom was especially nasty. A few pet mistakes and 10 years worth of heavy traffic dirt and grime. I didnt move everything out, just worked around the bed and dressers. Probably a 14x14 area. Took about 6 bottles worth of mix (water and the small amount of cleaner, per instructions) and in the heavy traffic and mistakes area, I went over them and let them soak for 5 minutes, then went over them again. When the wife got home, she immediately noticed the difference, from the living room, 10 feet away. Wow, you did the carpet. It looks great! And, she was right. It does look great. Again, my only real complaint is how it handles hair. All those years of always having pets (3-4 pets) left a LOT of hair, and the Dyson didnt do as good a job of getting it all out as I thought it was. It looked hairless, but obviously not. The Hoover pulled out a softball sized glob of hair. Sometimes, clumps just came out as I was cleaning, the rest I had to rinse out of the brushes in the sink. Since the cleaner is so light, it is easy to just lift it over the kitchen sink and clean the brush out with the faucet. Sounds a lot worse than it really is, maybe 2 minutes to a clean brush. Then again, it IS pulling all that hair out. I can live with the cleaning the brushes aspect. So, for effectiveness, I would give 5+ stars. For the little quibbles about dribbles and cleaning, I only gave it 4 stars.

Greater than one weekThis was exactly what I was looking for. It’s super light and easy to use. Cleaned up all the pet and kid stains. Actually seeing the dirty water shows you how much power it has. ❤️

> 3 dayOur carpet is over 10+ years old and between kids and pets... well it needed some love. Usually have Stanley steamer do it for us but then we have to vacate house to let the carpets dry properly. Was very skeptical of this product. Happy to say Im sold! Works great! Brought my carpet back to new! Was able to do it in sections to work around traffic to allow drying. Drying time seemed less as well. Definitely recommend and would purchase again. Economical as well. About 100$ (90 for machine 20 for solution)cleaned my whole house and still have solution left over!

> 3 dayThis is a great tool to have! Easy to use….not too bad to clean. I can’t see using it for carpeted home but we have found it to work well in area rugs (our house is all laminate). Here are the tips I have learned after a year: 1. Vacuum well first using your regular vacuum not this product 2. I have tried a few cleaning solutions and found that Woolite pet stain and odor remover works best. Use the same amount as directed. 3. Do rinse at least once if not twice. Just refill the bottle with water. This is a game changer in my opinion. Getting the soap at least mostly out keeps the rug from attracting everything. 4. You have to clean the machine a bit as you go because it will pull-up and soak fibers that wad up and get thrown from the spinner…these wads are filthy. Watch out for the drain filter where it goes into the dirty water holding tank…it’s small and hair/fibers build up. Overall very happy with this purchase. Much easier to use than a rug doctor. Cheers

> 3 dayDecided to give this a try to see if I can clean the stain on a very white long shaggy rug. My expectation wasn’t that high after reading other reviews about shaggy rug. OMG!! This works GREAT!! It has no problem cleaning a very long shaggy rug!! Very good investment!!
