31-10-2024Works great. Not for big jobs because the water tank has to be emptied constantly. But overall great product. It withheld my big job.

> 3 dayI have NEVER left a positive review for a vacuum or shampooer… well here we go. This thing is unbelievable… it distributes shampoo evenly and it truly does… as much water that you put into your carpet will come back up through the shampooer and you can clearly see it’s black and I have OCD lol to my surprise it was not light… now when I shampoo it’s light… it’s easy to move… the tanks are massive which is nice I don’t have to change or get water every 10 minutes… literally if it broke I would still buy it again

> 3 dayI’ve used this a fair amount since I bought it, and here are some random thoughts: 1) Hooked/Berber Rugs: I bought this specifically for the attachments because I thought I would need them to clean my hooked rugs (like Berbers with a looped pile) to protect it. After being on my hands and knees for ½ hour with the attachment, I realized that it was an exercise in futility, so I broke down and used the machine as intended. Well, turns out that the brushes are actually quite soft and gentle so it worked perfectly without damaging the rugs. 2) Rust: I read a lot of reviews that complain about the machine rusting, so I remove both the brush head and clear plastic nozzle (cow catcher on the front) before storing it. Can’t say whether this approach works or not (I’ve only had the machine for 6 months) but it can’t hurt. I’m hoping that it will help any residual moisture to dry out more easily. I also clean out the tanks well and make sure that they are really dry before putting them back on when I store it away. 3) Cleaning the brushes: No matter how much I vacuum first, this machine still manages to pull up a ton of dog hair from my rugs (maybe I need a new vacuum?). Anyway, all of the hair ends up buried deep down in the brush bristles. It turns out that you can remove the brushes from the clear plastic assembly that encases them, but frankly I’m scared to break the little locking tabs. As a result, it seems that soaking and “swishing” the entire assembly in a bucket of water seems to clean it fairly well. 4) Soap dispenser: Frankly I think the fill line ends up holding way more soap than you can use with one tank of clean water, and there’s no easy way to get it back into the jug so it’s a waste. I only fill the dispenser about ½ full. 5) Yellow “float” pops up: When the float pops up you loose suction, and it seems to be because the filter is blocked. This is probably the most annoying thing about this machine. I thought it was just the dog har that was blocking the filter, but even removing it with a clothes brush didn’t help. Now I’m convinced that soap build-up causes the blockage, and rinsing the filter with a lot of clean water seems to solve the problem. 6) Cord: I managed to run over the cord several times, which can’t be a good thing, so I finally looped it through the upper cord storage hook which fixed the problem. 7) High/Low Rugs: Not sure that any carpet machine could handle this, but the brushes cant reach the low parts of my high/low sculpted rugs. The attachments help though All in all I’m very happy with this machine and with how clean it gets my rugs. It’s not terribly heavy, so I’m able to clean all of my carpets without feeling like I ran a marathon. The price also seems reasonable when compared to others on the market.

> 3 dayInitial reaction when I had first received this Carpet cleaner, was pretty good. Opened the box, only thing I had to assemble was the handle and it was ready to go. Most of the 5-Star reviews have covered the good part of its functioning. I will highlight what they may not have experienced yet. The SpinScrub brushes makes the spinning action using a turbine mechanism. This turbine has cheap parts and it starts rusting as soon as it comes in touch with water, which could happen right after the first wash. This issue has been widely reported in Hoovers other models as well, and yet Hoovers clueless Engineering team is unable to change the design or the parts and keeps on using non-stainless steel and cheap parts which seize to operate, right after they come in contact with water and rust. Check the following link on Amazon Q&A where a user has asked a question after his or her machine stopped working: https://www.amazon.com/Brushes-not-spinning-something-internally/forum/Fx23UOVL4I8KXTK/Tx26GM4WHEYHZHV/1?asin=B00009R66F When I experienced this issue as I was getting ready to use the machine, I did an online search and numerous videos on how to fix the Hoover carpet cleaners turbine mechanism. Its just been a year and have used the cleaner twice. I am very handy with fixing things. So, I thought, I will give it a try before calling Hoover for warranty claim. In my case though, it wont fix as the shaft between two bearings is completely rusted and jammed. The bearings are rusted too, tried using WD-40 and tried to move the part but it wont budge. I have now sent a message to Hoover Support, lets see how quickly they can have it fixed. I will come back and update the review accordingly. ----- Update as of May 4th ----- My machine was still under warranty. I had contacted the Hoover Support via email but they refused to send the affected part and instead referred to me to their authorized service center. I tried to reason with them that its waste of time for me drive about 11 mi to take the machine for a problem which I have already diagnosed. They refused and reiterated to take it to authorized service center. I had eventually taken the machine last week to service center. The service center folks were very receptive and told me that this is a common problem but good for their business. Warranty or not, they get paid either way. Service Center had called me last Saturday that they had replaced the part under warranty. I just need to now pick it up. ----- Update as of May 6th ----- I picked up the machine today and it has a new turbine that rotates the SpinScrub brushes. This repair was done under warranty but I am concerned that warranty would soon expire. So, I asked the service tech about what options I have when (not if) it happens again. He told me that the part is about $30 and their service fee for changing the part is $20. So, I will be looking at $50 expense every time this part needs replacement as the company WILL NOT ship the part directly to consumer even if they could handle the repairs themselves. An additional fact to keep in mind before you pick this cleaner.

> 3 dayIf you have pets in your house, this is the best thing you can buy! After cleaning all the carpets they look brand new and the rooms smell amazing! We even had visits who asked if our carpets where new.

> 3 dayI got this first because it was name brand, and not super pricey. I have used it on furniture three times and on an area rug once. Super satisfying results, easy to use/understand the accessory tools. Highly recommend. It is also pretty light weight to carry up and down stairs. Only thing I would say is definitely keep the red rubber mat handy and have the carpet cleaner rest on it when using the accessory, a bit of water does come out of the main cleaner when cleaning with the accessory hose.

> 3 dayThis carpet cleaner has seen things... indescribable things that no one shall see or smell. Ever. We use the carpet cleaner for all over cleans along with larger spots. But let me tell you a story that goes down in history... One day, my brother wanted my son and I to come over for dinner and so he could see his nephew. I told him that I wasn’t really sure my 150lb Pitt/Great Dane mix was feeling that great. She had the runs the night before but it seemed to be drying up. He, naturally being a brother, claimed I was using that weak excuse to get out of coming over. This peer pressure set in. I let my dog out one last time and left. For way too long. Keep in mind, my down stairs all hard flooring. The dogs have access to that, the carpeted stairs, and a small hallway of carpet. Should be fine. Narrator: It was not fine. Cue my return to the distinct smell of explosive diarrhea. The smell has filled the house. I see a couple of poo streaks down stairs and think, wow, what a stench for a few streaks. Oh but wait, there’s more. I slowly creep up the stairs and see brown spots as I climb up. Please no. Oh but wait, there’s more! I reach the top and see a few more small spots. Okay not terrible. BUT OH WAIT, THERES MORE!! I turn the corner and low and behold, a fecal nightmare. At this point, you know I have a big dog and there’s poo on some carpet. Big dogs = big poos. Not only were there two large streaks of runs and plops of patties all over. The dog done pooed up the bathroom door. Still not sure on the logistics but there was splatter and patter because it was on the door, the frame, and somehow the half wall on the other side. Now... the moment you’ve all been waiting for. The cleanup. I picked up as much waste as I could using the ole ‘hand in the bag’ technique so there was minimal solid waste. Keep in mind, the waste is cold so it’s been here a hot minute. I then pretreated with the Hoover pretreat spray, which I also highly recommend. Next was busting out the power scrub deluxe with pet cleaner shampoo. This cleaner scrubbed like there was no tomorrow. I had to do a little more than the manual recommended passes but not only do I not see any evidence from the crime committed, I can lay my face on the crime scene and SMELL NOTHING. NOTHING!!! This horrifying episode alone earned every penny spent on the carpet cleaner. Thanks for a great product Hoover and those who took this story journey with me. Always remember to immediately clean your machine afterwards so it doesn’t get smelly.

> 3 dayOur shampooer broke mid job. Thats the way things go. We ordered this as a replacement. It came the next day. I did the other half of the room with a 3 year old Hoover product. I picked up where I left off. The difference was highly visible. I had to redo the areas I did just the day before. I personally think the circular rotation of the brushes is key to the cleaning of the carpets. The stairs did require second pass with the scrub head. Make sure you prime the attachment hose. The attachment hose we did have a bit of a struggle getting it to clip in initially. The furniture attachment is standard compared to other units. The suction power of the unit is awesome. It comes with a cleaning tool the help clean the main head. Easy disassembly to help clean the head. WE LOVE THIS

> 3 dayMy first impression was that this was lighter than most carpet cleaners Ive used, but that does not have an effect on its performance. This shampooer has a very strong suction and is super easy to use. Leaves the carpet just barely wet and the carpet dries very quickly after. Make sure to follow the directions and vacuum first! Also, do a rinse run after you do a shampoo run or the carpet will get stiff. The best for shampooing stairs!
