Love this machine. Was excited to use it and it didn’t disappoint. Made a huge difference on my rug

Okay, so the thing is more lightweight than my old hoover shampooer and makes much less noise. It does a good job as far as I can tell cleaning the carpet and throw rugs. Have to give it 5*s on that count but I could not find hoover shampoo at Walmart so I brought an off-brand. But could not be sure how much to add to the soap dispenser because I didnt know how much water the other half of the dispenser held. I had to get an empty gallon container and pour it into the water side of the tank to know how much of shampoo solution to add to the other half. In the end, it was way too soapy as I probably put in too much. Whatever. I used it anyway. THEN here is the part to be careful about (the design flaw). The dirty water container has two latches, one on each end. I unlatched the wrong end and then when i picked the dirty water tank up and out to dump it... it released dirty water all over the floor! Luckily it was on a tile floor and i re-attached the dirty water tank and sucked it right up. Now that I made that mistake once, wont be doing THAT again. Overall, now that i have gotten the hang of it, its going to be just fine. I like Hoover products. I used my old hoover shampoo for nearly 10 years and let my family borrow it too. I have a hoover vac that is awesome and love it. It was great and this one is going to be great too now that Ive made a few mistakes and figured out how to use it properly. I recommend it overall with the above caveats. Hope my review helps someone.

I purchased this machine along with the Hoover Deep Clean and Restore Carpet Solution. I am very pleased with the outcome after using the combo to clean the carpet in my apartment. I moved in to this apartment about 4 years ago and Im not sure how well the carpet was cleaned before I took residence, but I can tell you the carpet was not new. Since, then the carpet has not been cleaned. I would have to pay to have it professionally done anyway, so I figured for what they charge Id get my own machine. That way I can clean it as often as needed. I wasnt expecting miracles but just hoping to get several stains out of the living room and help the overall appearance. However, this thing worked miracles The stains were no match for the machine & solution. I had used spot cleaners multiple times and they hardly lightened the hue of the stains. Using this on the deep clean setting removed them easily. Also, the rotary brushes do a great job lifting the carpet pile and getting rid of the matted/worn look. I wasnt ready, however, for the pure vile filthiness this thing would extract from my carpet. The solution goes on clear but the dirty water tank looked as if I was brewing coffee. When you dump the dirty water, I recommend having your emotional support animal with you. Having to emotionally cope with the dirt and grime this thing picked up was the only downside to using it. Between myself, a teenager, and my German Shepherd Mix, I figured we tracked in some dirt...but I was in NO WAY expecting what I saw. Im just glad that funk-nastiness is no longer in my carpet. I highly recommend this little machine. My carpet looks better than the day I moved in.

I rarely write reviews though I always read reviews before making a purchase. So I am going to try to be more diligent about writing them. With so many available options it gets really confusing choosing among them. After hours of research and comparison, I chose this Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe Carpet Washer. Very glad I did. Like our very small cottage, our berber carpet is 23 years old and has seen lots of wear even though only the stairs, bedroom and bunkroom are carpeted. We built the cottage on our small working farm as a retreat from our hectic town life 20 minutes away. Over the years we have let friends, family members, and friends of family members use it when we were not going to be there. A lot of them seemed not to understand the dual-purpose of welcome mats. Or that shoes are not permanently affixed to the feet and can be removed. Also, we have always had dogs and cats and, naturally, as they age the likelihood of accidents increases. We are now retired and the cottage is now our permanent residence and the pale blue berber carpet is definitely an issue. Despite daily vacuuming and diligent spot cleaning with a little Bissell Mean Green, it was so stained that I do not want to describe it to you. It has been a decade since the last time it was professionally cleaned. We considered replacing the carpet but did not want to have hard flooring in our bedrooms, could not find any carpet we liked and also realized that with 2 older people, 4 older dogs, and 2 young cats in permanent residence and assorted grandchildren visiting, carpet cleaning would frequently be needed anyway. So, the Hoover Power Scrub Deluxe Carpet Washer arrived, my grandson easily assembled it ready for use. I did pretreat the worst of the stains with Hoover Platinum Collection Professional Strength Instant Stain Remover spray which I keep on hand and have used many times before and still had the stains, but thought it couldnt hurt, so why not? I used the hottest tap water and emptied the dirty water tank so many times I lost count. It took 4 or 5 hours to clean the small carpeted areas because even when the carpet looked clean on the surface, I wanted to make sure it was as clean as possible before I collapsed from exhaustion. Having the choice to switch between wash and rinse settings was a tremendous help as the cleaning solution and clean water are separated and only mix when you want them to. I alternated between wash and rinse repeatedly and then ended with rinse as suggested in the operating manual. The carpet does not look brand new but it does look and smell clean, really clean! I am amazed! There are still a few faint stains but think they may be helped when cleaned again. So convenient to have the cleaner on hand to use whenever needed. It is very easy to take apart the parts that need to be cleaned after use. I would let them dry completely before putting them back together. The cleaning solution worked great but you will need more than the 16oz bottle that comes with the machine. Amazons subscribe and save feature lowers the cost of the solution and you decide how often you want them to send a bottle. I use the subscribe and save a lot. It is convenient to have exactly what you need delivered to your door exactly when you need it. I am older and have MS so the Carpet Washer is a little on the heavy side and I had a bit of difficulty getting it up the stairs empty so I would not attempt to carry it up the stairs with water in it. It does have 2 carry handles which made it easier to carry. This may not be an issue for most people. I did collapse before I was able to do the stairs so I cannot yet say whether those particular attachments work as well as the upright machine itself. I will try to update this review when I do the stairs. I will also need to use the attachments to clean the perimeter of the rooms as there is a 1-2 line around the carpet that the upright could not reach.

I absolutely love this machine! I researched for 3 months before purchase. I usually rent rug Doctor wide track and have been for years. Its a heavy machine but heavy duty so comparison in products to purchase was a hard sell. Ease of attachments: This was very versatile with little work. I cleaned my entire sectional (pets, kids, spills) in 15 minutes. The attachments water return is equal to what it puts out. I used the upholstery attachment here. Stairs: the machine not only has a long cord but also a long hose. We have 12 steps. I left the machine at the bottom of the stairs and completed 8. Then moved it to the top and completed the last 4. I used the stair, crevice and scrub power tool. AMAZING! The attachments and the hose come in a neat mesh hanger bag for easy storage. Dry time on the attachments are a little longer because the heat drying system is not distributed through the hose. No big deal it did a fantastic job! I only had to go over it once. I even did my car mats!! They look brand new, again, kids, dog, spills. Dog pee: My dog gets spiteful and will pee on my cream colored carpet!!! AHHH. Alot of the time these sit, gross!! The scrubbing power (5 rotating scrub brushes) had no problem erasing these in one pass. Oh yeah and no more odors! My pet isnt a smelly girl but after awhile the carpets just smell from her hair! Fresh smelling rooms when I was done. It is a good idea to run a rinse after the wash cycle. use less soap than the fill tank requires. Cut it by half and add water instead or youll have bubbles. No issue after decreasing amount. Weight: very light but durable. I have back and neck injuries and I could carry it even with a full tank. Easy to clean! With reading little direction ( although the pamphlet is very descriptive) the parts came off easily for cleaning and went back easily too! The tanks are easy release and easy to clean. Theres a quick pour spout on the dirty tank to allow quick emptying when still Cleaning and also a latch system that allows it to come apart when complete. Leaking: It didnt leak when moving it, when I used the hose attachment I didnt fasten it and hadnt realized for a minute. This was the only time I had any water on the floor. The gallon tank was helpful. I did my couch and the dog room on one tank before changing it. The water return also is exactly what it put out. You can run this machine dry without any issue like others in the past. We covered, cleaning, attachments, tank size, cord length, hose length, weight, leaking potential, pet stains. I think thats alot of ground! Oh and assembly was 1,2,3. Just take two screws into base of handle and go! No messing with hoses or any mechanical gadgets! Im extremely happy with this purchase. Hoover has not always had all my faith but for this machine we are going to become great friends. I have already told you it took 3 months of research. Im picky and needed alot from my chosen machine. All in all I give this machine a 5 out of a 5

We bought this cleaner to replace an older carpet cleaner that had literally fallen apart. We have stairs in our house, and we found the extension wand and hose does a nice job of cleaning pet stains on stairs and landings. The unit is fairly light. I wish it had a handle at the mid point of the machine to make it easy to carry between stairs. My biggest complaint is that the cleaning liquids are extremely expensive. But it gets the job done.

This is a fabulous deal. I was leery of reported rusty metal near gaskets that would fail, so I purchased an extended warranty. But as the instruction booklet advises, I left the tanks and filter, front spray cover and spinner brushes to dry overnight like I did the carpet (after hand-toweling dry tank gaskets/pin and rest of the body). I released the handle and left the Hoover outstretched to dry on the living room tile. In the morning, I used an old travel-sized Sticky Buddy (lint/hair remover, pictured) to remove the lint from the (dry) black tank filter - 95% came off after the first pass on each side. I also took a Philips trimmer comb (pictured) Id never used, to gently (don’t break anything) lift/nudge the gray fuzz out of the soft (dry) spinner bristles (the fuzz has been “washed” after all); compare the 2 cleaned scrubber wheels at each end to the 3 uncombed ones in between. My naturally speckled 9-yr-old rental carpet looked like side-by-side moped tires dipped in axle grease had been making their way between the living room tile and the bathroom (top left), along the foot of the bed/dressers (from tile toward the right) and general gray grunge for the remaining carpet (center). It was depressing. All gone now, using only a fraction of the Hoover box’s enclosed cleaner solution, after 3 years of neglect (my ancient Pro Heat died, so I tried various by-hand methods). Because of the build-up in traffic areas, I did not follow directions re over-wetting the carpet: I did the advised wet/dry passes a couple times over the whole carpet; then I came back to the traffic areas and did more wet passes with only occasional dry, until each section started to really lighten (at most, a minute); then I backed off and dried, rinsed and dried again thoroughly. I left 3 small fans blowing on 3 sides of the bed all night, along with a small space heater on low heat for the largest area, and plopped the rinsed tanks and accessories into those streams of fan-blown air. All told, I spent about an hour shampooing/rinsing/sucking-dry the carpet around my bed and short hallway to the bathroom, and another hour rinsing/drying tanks/parts and doing silly things like combing spinner brushes. This Hoover is smaller, lighter and more maneuverable than my old Pro Heat (except for sneaking under furniture edges). Heavy/bulky upholstery tools are stored in a separate accessory bag, not on the machine, and all the gross stuff can be rinsed (or rolled/combed off) with ease. So I’m fine with having it next to my grandkids basket of stuffed animals (it’s certainly cleaner than the bottom of my shoes that tracked carport oil/silt onto the carpet in the first place, lol). I will likely use the Hoover only once or twice a year for 100 sq ft of carpet, so taking time to clean/dry it for storage afterward is no big deal. It’s not a commercial-grade behemoth. You can’t fling it around like a mop, either: just slowly up and back, overlap, slowly up and back about one foot/sec – works GREAT. Sneaking the scrubber under furniture will press the Hoover’s upper tank against that furniture and pry it loose from its gasket so the Hoover stops sucking. But it has accessory tools to clean where its built-in brushes cant go. Also, note that the latch for the lower tank is shared with the spray shield below – since the latch is happy to flip either way, it takes a few tries to get the hang of how it should look/feel – there is no solid thunk as it latches successfully onto the lip of the tank. And yes, I wish the cord were about 3 ft longer. I can’t speak to its longevity yet, but I found this carpet cleaner to be thoughtfully engineered, the parts align/latch correctly, its tanks are easy to fill/empty. It’s clean, so I can keep it handy indoors for any kiddie spills that occur. There may be lemons out there, but the one I received completely refurbished the pitiful carpet I’ve been living with. Thank you, Hoover and Amazon Prime!

This is a fantastic scrubber. I will let any reader know very specifics about this scrubber. I previously owned the scrub master older version from about 4 yrs ago. The brushes stopped spinning and I needed a new one. I chose this scrubber because of the price, it came with alot of attachments in their own bag, and because its hoover. I believe hands down hoover is the best. Anyway. I chose this one as my new scrubber. BIG DIFFERENCE! My last hoover was way heavier than this one even before adding water. Also, my old one was longer in the front, making it awkward to carry because all the weight was hanging in the front. This scrubber is nice and compact. Shorter, lighter, and not as wide. Big wheels and short front make it very easy to turn, where my old one was harder. I always bumped stuff. Startup: cord is decent. I wouldnt say short its about average. this scrubber is very quiet. I actually think its quieter than my vacuum slightly. My old one was super duper loud I didnt even want kids downstairs it was so loud. This one is like a vacuum but you can immediately hear the power. The brushes scrubbed so well I could feel the brush vibration sometimes from how powerful. take others advice, rinse wash rinse. Rinse gets your carpet damp enough to work with the soap and move with the brushes easier when you wash. Im 8 months pregnant and can handle this machine so well. Does not strain me to use, and I can actually carry it. Tanks: two tank system plus other compartment for solution, perfection! They are slightly smaller tanks than the scrub master, but Im fine with that because the machine isnt as bulky or heavy. If you ever owned a huge scrubber, you would appreciate the lighter weight, but its not too light. The $89 Bissell classic model, is alot smaller than this machine (for comparison). So I love the size. What took only one tank on my old take just a little over one for each step (rinse step rinse) but honestly I dont care if rather refill than drag a huge machine. Result: my carpets are very clean now. Even spray! The powerful brushes fluffed up my carpet way better than my old machine. Oh my. So soft to walk on and the high traffic area that was crushed down I could barely get up with my old machine, is so fluffed now! So better performance, shocking for a smaller machine. Cleanup: Advanced! If you have ever seen someone elses scrubber, the front window where the water and dirt is sucked up is always disgusting! My old machine came with a thin tool to scrape some gunk out, but I lost it and over time the hair and dirt just collected in it. No way to take this part apart on any machine to clean it. Its sealed and screwed down. On this scrubber, you can actually take it off and clean it! What!? With a V shape it isnt holding a ton of dirt, and the hose attachment flap is in the center so you can rinse the whole inside of this piece. This is a huge plus, people. You can clean everything on this machine spotless when you are done. Please do clean after every use, it only took me ten minutes but it prolongs the life of all scrubbers. I used and cleaned it and it looks brand new, cant even tell I used it. Anyone who owns a scrubber knows how amazing that is. I have struggled with my old one trying to get it clean but never could get that front part clean enough. Gross. Final thought: LOVR THIS MACHINE. Im sorry some other people had trouble, it happens with some products not every one is perfect. This machine didnt leak like my other one, light, and very powerful. I know scrubbers, and this is top knotch! And for $130? Are you kidding!? Fantastic. If you have very tough stains I buy carpet spray spot cleaner and pretreat sometimes, which who cares I understand some stains depending what it is can be hard. But this scrubber is top of the line. Trust me. Why spend more money? Get this machine.

Cleaned my living room carpet as soon as it was delivered. Smells clean looks clean. It does have a small water tank. That was in reviews. I filled it 3 times to empty dirty tank 2 times never ran out of soap. Im happy.

Easy to use, cleans very well. My two complaints are the float valve constantly closes, with the slightest bump, forcing you to shut it off until the float opens up. Super annoying as it also doesn’t allow the tank to fill fully. Second, the handle latch and on off switch are smooth plastic, making your foot slip off them when using, especially on wet carpet, also super annoying.
