GU Energy Original Sports Nutrition Energy Gel, 24-Count, Vanilla Bean

My two athletes use these all the time. Good for a pre-workout/competition boost. They are very tasty! Thick, caramel flavor- very much like candy- for me they are a little too rich tasting, so if thats a concern, have some water nearby to wash it down. They are super convenient to throw in a gear bag, and give a little boost on the go.

These work very well for me on long runs, including marathon training and marathon races!

I’ve purchased a lot of GU but wanted to try a new flavor. I was not disappointed with the salted caramel. GU is my go to energy boost before and during any long run and when it tastes good it makes it even better. Love this product!

In my opinion, this is THE BEST tasting power gel on the market. GU has really hit a homerun with this one. A lot of their fruit flavors are pretty disgusting, and the Espresso is kind of grainy. This salted caramel literally tastes like youre eating straight-up caramel from the sundae bar!! My wife and I run 25-30 miles a week with long runs every week, and weve come to appreciate these quick fuel sources. She generally hates these types of gels, but this is the one flavor and brand that she will actually use. Plus, the added caffeine really helps provide some energy for those last few miles on a long run.

There are Gu Gel people and then there are the rest of us. I started off in the former camp - used the Gu Gel on a couple long runs and loved the energy burst. So I took the plunge and bought a 24-pack from Amazon, in Vanilla Bean (my favorite flavor). But as my long runs increased above 15 miles, I found the Gu Gel upset my stomach and instead I needed real food to fuel my body. Just depends on your mileage and personal preference. If you like the Gu Gels, Vanilla Bean is great and the price at Amazon (for a 24-pack) is the best Ive seen.

Best taste of all the flavors I’ve tried

These are my go-to when Im doing any activities where I have a need for fueling. Easy to consume, tastes great and easy to carry.

These are hands down the best trail chowder I have ever consumed! I have been an avid mountain biker since 1990 and have eaten uncountable quantities of nasty sawdust bars, puke flavored bars (see Pro Bar), lumpy gag inducing goo packs, fruity heartburn slime and other varying grotesquiries. These are actually so yummy I crave them when I am not bonking on my bike... Thank you Gu, you have finally made something so tremendously tasty that I actually look forward to trail food time.

Ive used other electrolyte boosters (bars, drinks, gels, etc.) while running 12+ miles and GU is by far my favorite. I like this source of energy while Im running because it is portable, light on stomachs, and works in about 10 minutes (when taken with water).
