I replaced the pull out hose because of leaks at handle. Local plumber said the hose was torn. So far, so good. However, after replacing torn hose, a leak sprung up at the Grohe 46 130 coupling end. There are no clear instructions on how to correctly install the coupling. Should I start by gripping lower part of coupling, then push entire device up so it feels like the yellow upper portion is in a sweet spot, then, while still pushing up the base, pull down on the yellow portion, release, and feel a snap into place? That is what I am doing, and I still get a leak, not a big spray. Lets hope new device works. I also bought a red coupling as a back up...any advice?

Bought a new Grohe kitchen faucet and the flow was so limited the sprayer would not work and it took waaaaay too long to even fill a pot with water. You couldnt even rinse the sink out the pressure was so weak. Did some research on the flow restrictor for our model and bought this coupling to replace the red coupling that restricts flow to 1.75 gpm (I think - might be 1.5?) Problem solved! The pressure is actually so strong you have to get used not turning it on all the way. You have to go under the sink to replace it because it is on the end of the hose where it connects to the body of the faucet, not up at the handle end. Once you get under there and find it, it takes about 30 seconds to replace it. It is kind of irritating that it costs what it costs since it is just a piece of plastic tubing with one threaded end and one push/pull snap connector on the other. But it saved me from years of frustration with a ridiculously low water flow.

I have prime and the two day shipping is just awesome. My sink started leaking on Saturday while I was canning. What a pain. I called two plumbers who quoted amazingly high weekend prices and long shipping times for parts (am I in the wrong profession?). I thought long and hard and while on Amazon, searched for my Grohe faucet model and found that Amazon sells this part. I ordered this and a new sprayer... which was clogged with hard water deposits. Ended up installing them both myself for under $125 in approximately 30 minutes. WOW. That was less than half of the lowest plumbing quote I received - and their quotes did not include parts. You could probably install them faster if you knew what you were doing! The yellow end connects and disconnects with a quick couple mechanism. That is where my leak was. You push the yellow sleeve down (dont try to unscrew it like I did) and the whole hose comes off the faucet end...there is just a bubble-expansion on the end of the faucet that this connects to. The other end unscrews and the hose disconnects so you can put on the new coupling. I now have a spare coupling and a spare sprayer underneath my sink so when this happens again, Im ready and can fix the problem immediately. Fast shipping - item arrived in one day for $3.99. THANKS Amazon for saving me a bundle.

My husband tells me the part was the correct part, however, Grohe has manufactured this replacement item with cheaper materials. When we purchased all Grohe faucets in our home, it was to avoid cheap use of materials. We expect better for purchasing Grohe.

    hand installation, no tools needed

easy to install, but be cautious because the plastic threads will crack if you try to put it on too tight. For that reason and the high cost is why I did not rate this product five stars.

Thankfully had water sensor under kitchen sink. Discovered that this part (about 20yrs old kitchen faucet) was spraying water. Found it on Amazon at great price - nowhere else had in stock. Ordered Friday night and was delivered Sunday afternoon. Saved probably $400 versus plumber visit. One note -when i initially removed this part, i had to slide down yellow lock part, and then really pull hard to yank it off the faucet part. And on install, quickconnect needs to be held down with one hand while pushed up hard with other hand to lock onto the metal part that comes down from the faucet. My first replacement attempt it leaked since it had not snapped into place. Hard to get leverage under sink to do this. I should have know it wasnt snapped since it went in too easy. Needs some force - listen and feel for that satisfying snap.

I probably did not need to replace the original but it was 18 years old and since I was replacing the hose I felt that it was no big deal, works seemlessly with new hose

This is the link you need for the hose to connect to the facuet. Easy to install and just need to hear the click when you install it and you are done.
