This is by far my most favorite Garmin watch. I have been using Garmin watches for the past 3 years. The Instinct provides a mix of durability and flexibility that makes the perfect choice for any outdoor lover.

Finally somebody made a proper smart watch, rather than tried to cramp a cell phone onto your wrist. The coolest features of this watch is a nice *always on* display, long batter life (2 weeks claimed, I charge every Sunday just in case), the important smartphone integration (you get all your notifications and reminders) and the fitness tracking that youd expect from Garmin. Plus it looks modern, elegant and unique, and you may not expect it from its look, is light and comfortable to wear.

I have been wearing my Instinct for six months now it is my every day watch and hardly comes off, when it does you can still see it from my tan line. I am not easy on watches and my last G-Shock just broke too many times for me to keep fixing it. I love the silicone band rather than plastic as it will not harden with time and break. I am a police officer and have put this watch into some less than ideal environments. It has yet to scratch or break. Battery life is great I get three to four weeks on a charge, I bet the solar lasts a few months. I have used this watch on a few summit trails and it has tracked my every move down to the tenth of a mile. I even used it to set out a orienteering course and once I figured out that the watch gives coordinates in minuets and google maps uses seconds ( a simple divide by 60 equation) I was able to take readings from the watch put them into google maps and make printouts for people to follow. Now I am not what you would call tech savvy and I am sure there is so much more this watch can do there are more options then I can wrap my head around. Keeping that in mind my only complaint is that the user interface can be hard for me to find my way through. I wish I could use the Phone app to go through and set everything up for the watch. Oh yeah it is also a health band and works great at that I rarely use it to track workouts but it gives me heart rate, sleep cycles, and steps very well. Great watch I would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a quality GPS watch.

Battery life is A+. Love the ability to save gps locations and the ability to track my hikes. I can hunt and hike without having to think too much as my watch with guide me back to where I started. I dont use the app much but the interface on the watch itself is awesome I really like this watch.

I’ve owned numerous Garmin watches, the most recent being the Vivoactive 3. This watch blows that one out of the water. It’s much faster and has more features that are a lot more useable for people who are outdoor active. A few people have gripes about the lack of Connect IQ ability, but it doesn’t matter at all to me. The custom watch faces were more irritating than necessary sometimes. I was also a bit worried about not having contactless payment, but I usually have my phone with me anyway, so it didn’t even bother me. The watch is comfortable and works amazing. True to Garmin form.

I needed a tracker that would work in cold temps and high altitude. My Samsung Fit2 would stop working at about 9,000 (not even that high) and in barely freezing temps. Thats why I got this rugged best. Sure its not touch and is monochrome, but those arent as important as the tracker working while I am. Battery life is amazing: barely a dent in battery life on a 3 hour bike ride, and last all day tracking a hike. Only complaint is on a multi-day hike I cant use a standard USB cable, but have to carry the proprietary one to recharge.

Heart rate is great. I love the programming it comes with. All the monitors are pretty good. Battery life is also excellent. Only critiques I have is that the sleep measurement is for sure not accurate when breaking up deep sleep, rem, and light sleeps. Additionally it stinks that you can use it for golf courses. It has live mapping of trails, why not add golf courses?

This watch does way more than most would ever use but the features are there if needed. Good price for such a nice watch!

When you can rely on Instinct, the world can rely on you. This rugged, reliable outdoor GPS watch is built for the U. S. Military standard 810G for thermal, shock and water resistance (Rated to 100 meters). The fiber-reinforced polymer case adds strength and durability, and the chemically-strengthened, scratch-resistant display is high-contrast enough to read in bright sunlight, so you can take it with you into the extremes you face every day. Plus, the fully vented silicone bands include two independent, removable keeper loops to ensure a secure fit and to keep you from getting caught on things. Water rating: 10 ATM.
