I have been using a Dyson V7 vacuum for years and have been quite happy with it. I have even replaced the battery a few times. But it was finally time for an upgrade, so I ordered this new V8 model. I could tell as soon as I took it out of the box that it has much more power than my V7. The battery lasts a lot longer as well. This vacuum is equally at home on carpet or hardwood floors. You can also use it as a handheld vacuum to clean your car or get into tight spaces. With my V7 I would get frustrated that the battery would sometimes die before I was finished cleaning, so I would have to wait for it to recharge so I could continue. But I have never had that problem with this V10 since the battery lasts so long. If you can afford to spend a little more, I still recommend the V10, since it has a little more power and even longer battery life. But if you can get the V8 on sale, its one of the best values in a quality cordless vacuum that youll find. I highly recommend this model based on my experience with it so far.

Purchased a lesser model from Amazon with excellent reviews and it did a poor job so thank god I was able to return it. Within a weeks time I got notified this was on sale and I jumped at the chance to purchase it, as it is not a cheap vacuum. It is worth every penny I spent on it so dont waste your money on cheaper items that may break or need to be replaced quickly, put your money into a Dyson. I have 2 dogs and a cat and I use this vacuum on a daily basis in my kitchen, family room and the most used rooms in the house. It picks up everything. It is a little top heavy, and would have preferred an on off and not a pressure switch, but will live with these minor issues considering the job it does. Dont waste your money on throw away products with no suction power, this one is absolutely worth it!

I was surprised about how small this is. Its very thin, but Im amazed and how good the suction is. It leaves vacuum tracks!! I love vacuum tracks. Its very easy to push around. The main vacuum head has a ball joint where it connects, so its super easy to turn and move around. This kind of tripped me up because it doesnt feel like it should be dragging along the floor, but if its not against the floor, it doesnt really suction. It just looks a little weird because of the join proportions between the two parts, but it still works good. Its decently easy to put together, but it has A LOT of parts/accessories. Also, the instructions are really poor. Theres no words, so it would have been nice to have a little bit more detail, but I did figure it out. When the instructions say click it really does click. The parts snap together super easily, and theyre easy to take apart. One unfortunate thing is that it cannot stand up on its own. In order for it to stand up, the instructions say to install the wall holder, which requires drilling holes into the wall (which I cannot do in an apartment, so kind of stinky). I end up just laying it against a corner, which works, but its kind of annoying. It would have been nice if it could stand on its own. Overall, its a pretty nice vacuum. Its very small, but its still incredibly powerful. Very easy to move around. I recommend!!

I love that it is light weight and works wonderful on picking up dirt and the suction on cleaning the carpets!

I am happy to have an opportunity to try out this Dyson V8 vacuum, its my first time to use Dyson vacuum product. The best part I found was hair (both humans and pets) didnt stay on the brush/roller. The other vacuum I own doesnt have this feature and every time after I use vacuum, I need to remove it manually. The V8 vacuums suction power is as strong as corded vacuums, it collected all my cats hair. As its cordless, it is easy to maneuver. One thing I didnt like was I needed to press the trigger button all the time while Im vacuuming, that made my hand tired. I havent installed but Im planning to install the wall mount charging station near one of our outlets. Disposing the dust was very easy. Overall, I like the V8 vacuum so far. If I find anything notable later, I will update this review.

I bought this model Dyson since it was on sale and I needed to replace my eureka stick vac I’ve had for a few years. Never had a Dyson before and figured why not see what the hype is about…so far I’m not impressed! I primarily use a vac like this (without having to pull out our house central vac system) to clean up after my toddlers messes, to suck up dog hair and a general quick clean up. The battery life is awful and I don’t keep it plugged in 24/7. I can maybe get a few, quick, runs around the house with this before it needs to be charged again. Also I’m so annoyed that it’s a trigger on/off switch instead of a constant on switch (just my personal pet peeve). It’s heavy for my hand/arm and rubs against my thumb when using. It doesn’t stand up straight on its own. Using it on my thin, washable rugs where the kids play, it stops spinning like there’s something caught in it, when there isn’t, so I have to stop it so it can almost reset, then use it again.

Ive always preferred canister vacuums, because the wand and hose are much easier to move and maneuver, but it can be a pretty big pain to drain around the canister. The Dyson V8 solves that, because its basically just the wand portion of my canister vacuum without a cord or bulky canister unit. Along with the vacuum, you get several accessories: a wall-mounted dock, a crevice tool, a brush tool, an upholstery tool, and the powered floor attachment. The dock has two slots to store the crevice and brush tools, but theres no obvious place to store the upholstery attachment. The wall dock has a cable channel and clip to hold the included charging cable, so that you can just slot the vacuum into the mount for storage and charging. Unfortunately though, the cable isnt easily removable after you attach the dock to your wall, because the cable channel is on the backside of the dock. If you decide not to use the dock, then you can still recharge the vacuum by just plugging in the charging cable. Theres a switch to toggle between normal and high power mode and a momentary trigger switch to turn on the vacuum. The trigger does need to be held down to keep powering the vacuum, but fortunately, it doesnt take much strength to depress the trigger button. The V8 does not have a trigger lock, but a quick search on Amazon shows that there are a lot of third party options to add a lock if you want it. The V8 battery is rated for 40 minutes at normal power, but that drops to 25-35 minutes if youre using the powered floor attachment. In our usage, we found those numbers to be pretty accurate. Thats just enough runtime to vacuum the hardwood floors in our 3-bedroom house. If you turn on the high power mode, the runtime drops to just a few minutes. Unfortunately, the recharge time is 5 hours. You can buy an extra battery, but you wont be able to charge it in the wall dock, so youll also have to get an extra charging cord. Swapping batteries on the V8 also requires a screwdriver to release the battery. The V8 is a really nice vacuum overall, but the limited battery life makes it best to use with smaller spaces or as a secondary vacuum for cleaning up messes.

This vacuum is really incredible. Its quiet, lightweight, great maneuverability, easy to dump the dust canister, doesnt tangle hair, has a long lasting battery - and the suction is really amazing. Suction: The suction is extremely powerful, and far exceeds my expectations. There are 2 different suction/power settings, and on setting 2, its so powerful that I often find the vacuum getting stuck to my carpet. It is maybe even more powerful than my corded upright vacuum. Size: This vacuum is a great size. Its pretty light and very easy to maneuver. It steers very well and is in general a pleasure to use. The dust canister isnt huge, but it holds a lot of dust and hair. I typically have to empty it a couple times per cleaning session, but its quite easy to dump and this is not an issue. Attachments: The vacuum comes with the main brushroll, plus 3 attachments: one for dusting, a crevice tool, and a roller for removing hair from furniture. They all work very well and are very easy to attach. This vacuum is perfect for dusting and thats my favorite aspect of it. The brushroll is also great and I love how good it is at not tangling hair. Other rollers Ive used have a constant problem with tangling hair - but not this one. Noise level: Super quiet. Even on the high suction mode this vacuum is quiet. I usually need earbuds or earplugs when vacuuming, but not with this one. Thoughts: Overall - this is really an excellent vacuum. By far the best cordless stick vacuum I have used. The suction is amazing for such a small and lightweight device, and the battery lasts way longer than I expected. If you like the canister size and attachments, this is a great vacuum and you will love it.
