I mostly got this vacuum for all the places that my regular vac cant reach and it does not disappoint. It was super easy to put together and very use to use. I can vac much farther under furniture now, vac the stairs super easily. I can even vac the dog hair that is stuck to the memory foam mattress topper that my old vac couldnt tackle. There is a little bit of friction trying to push her around the carpet, but thats what the upright vac is for. She glides super easily on non carpeted flooring surfaces. The things I dont really care for - the battery capacity isnt that great if youre trying to clean the whole house, especially if you put it on max suction so use that sparingly. So far Im really impressed with how much it sucks up and how easy it is to use.

Love how light it is, and no cord

The product will not charge up and will only run for about ten minutes. I have tried to return it but the process is too complicated and I am thoroughly disgusted with Amazons return policy. I need my money refunded. I buy a lot of products from Amazon and I am seriously thinking about ending my relationship and trying another outlet for my purchases Thank You!

This is the worst Dyson ever. I used it 3 times and it doesnt work any more. Amazon will not return. Do not buy!

The V8 is another excellent cordless vacuum by Dyson. I had it going within a few minutes of unboxing it and immediately went to task on cleaning up the living room and guest room. I was able to vacuum every nook and cranny with the V8 before the battery died, however I noticed that I would need to recharge it to complete the entire house (actually had to do this a few days later, we have a 5 bedroom home on two stories with a sunroom so I needed two charge cycles to complete it all). Other than the battery capacity I have no criticisms, its an absolute pleasure to vacuum with.

Just what I needed for short jobs. It comes with a convenient hanger to put it up on the wall & the charger threads through that. It came with a 2 yr. warranty and was easy to register. The quick start guide was great and within a couple of minutes I was using it. It doesnt hold a charge for too long, maybe 10 minutes, but thats enough vacuuming for me. I use a robot vacuum to do most areas but it doesnt do corners or around furniture legs so the combo is working for me.

I bought this model Dyson since it was on sale and I needed to replace my eureka stick vac I’ve had for a few years. Never had a Dyson before and figured why not see what the hype is about…so far I’m not impressed! I primarily use a vac like this (without having to pull out our house central vac system) to clean up after my toddlers messes, to suck up dog hair and a general quick clean up. The battery life is awful and I don’t keep it plugged in 24/7. I can maybe get a few, quick, runs around the house with this before it needs to be charged again. Also I’m so annoyed that it’s a trigger on/off switch instead of a constant on switch (just my personal pet peeve). It’s heavy for my hand/arm and rubs against my thumb when using. It doesn’t stand up straight on its own. Using it on my thin, washable rugs where the kids play, it stops spinning like there’s something caught in it, when there isn’t, so I have to stop it so it can almost reset, then use it again.

I have a few stick vacs in different areas of the house and this is replacing one of them. It runs about ten minutes on high, which I expected, because all of mine run about that long on high. It doesnt charge as quickly as another that I have, it takes over an hour and a half to fully charge. There is a charging indicator of lights on the side of the handle that shows how far from fully charged it is. Charging is easy just plug into the back of the handle. I do wish it charged more quickly. What I like about this one compared to my others is that the beater brush attachment to vacuum rugs/floor is FAR superior to any that I own. It really picks stuff up! The attachments go on and off easily with the press of a button. This is actually much easier than any of my others. While they all have a button to push, this one I can do with one finger, very easily, to release the attachment. This one is very easy to dump the canister and clean both filters. Very easy. Im on the fence about the trigger. Sometimes I love it and sometimes I dont. To operate this you have to constantly press the trigger. I like it because to stop it if I have to move furniture I just take my finger off the trigger and it stops. Other times I dislike it because, not to be a wimp, but sometimes my finger gets fatigued from pressing it for ten minutes. I know, I know. Maybe theres a way to not have to press the trigger constantly, but I wouldnt know because mine didnt come with any instructions. The suction power is excellent! It also comes with a wall hanger to hold the stick vac and attachments. If it gets clogged it would be extremely easy to dislodge the clog because you can easily access all the parts of the vacuum/hose.

This arrives in a large box that somehow is also surprisingly small. I think that gives an early indication of the small but mighty quality of this vacuum. When you take this out, you will see that it has a small charge. Resist the urge to use this, and, instead, plug it in. Now, its going to take some time to charge. Therefore, be patient. While this is supposed to be wall mounted, we could not do that since we do not have a closet with an outlet and we didnt want to leave this visible on a wall. (And, perhaps, more importantly, we didnt want to have to spackle and paint when we moved on from this appliance). Therefore, we just charge this in the spare bedroom and then tuck it in a closet when done. And, it does need to be noted that this cannot take the place of your corded vacuum. Even with a full charge, the battery life is very short: maybe twenty to thirty minutes. (And, charger is not fast). When you pick this up, it is so easy to bump the activation button. In fact, Im not certain I have ever picked this up and NOT turned it on by accident. Maybe the button needs a cover or to be placed in a different area? And, just as a note, you must squeeze the on button for this to work. You cannot turn it on and it stays on. You must always hold the trigger down. I think thats a pretty serious hint that this isnt meant to clean you entire home in one session. So, why the five stars? Because this works like nothing else. We have two Roombas on each floor. They run every other day and everything seems very clean. But when I slowly ran this over the areas rugs, I was stunned at not only the hair, but the debris. I mean ... stunned! When I was done with all of the area rugs, I had dumped the bin three times. My better-half was as surprised as I. And, of course, he ended up vacuuming all of the cars ... and even took it to my dads house (because hes on the same Roomba program as we are) and doing all of my dads rugs! Hes wild about this thing! Its his new toy. The power and effectiveness is positively incomparable! We have been using this for about a month. Our opinion has not changed. This is a truly amazing device that allows for next-level cleaning (and if your children have allergies or asthma, you know how important a deep clean is). Weighing everything, I can only very highly recommend this. Another way to keep your home super tidy! Wow!

I picked up this Dyson V8 to replace my aging Shark vacuum that I do love, but they no longer make that model any more so I cant replace it with the same cleaner. Id shopped around looking at some other stick vacs but wasnt sure which one to go with, and Id always heard that Dysons were one of the best. So I was pretty excited to give this one a try. Its said to have about 40 minutes of runtime, depending on the setting being used. I cant say Ive had it last quite that long for me. Fortunately, I dont often need that much time with this, since Im using it just on the main level of my home which is all hardwood floors and a few rugs. I could vacuum my whole home in 40 minutes and Im pretty certain I couldnt get enough runtime with this to clean my whole home. Im wondering if the 40 minutes of time would be if it was fully charged and just turned on, not actually using it where it gets resistance on the floor from debris and such? Not to say the battery has a super short lifespan. Just that I think Ive been getting a bit less than that. The suction power is outstanding. I have several large dogs and its springtime, so they are shedding everywhere right now. I have to vacuum my main level every other day or else theres so much fur you could make rugs out of it all. This cleaner does a great job of getting all the hair, dirt, crumbs and such that are all around the floors. It also pulls up the hair from the rugs at the front and back door quite well, and my carpeted stairway. It stores and charges nicely with the included mounting kit. However if you dont want to set up or install the wall mount you can plug the charging cable directly into the cleaner. I think Dyson may have recently changed up their V8 design, because Im seeing a lot of information online from previous years where people mention two brush heads. One being a hard floor attachment and one for carpeting, both large full size vacuum heads. That is not what they come with now. The V8 I received comes with 1 full size cleaning head called a Motorbar. It looks to be a two in one design, so you dont need to switch out between the two heads any more. And then there are several smaller cleaning head attachments as well. The hair tool is a good size for cleaning stairs. Thats what Ive been using to clean up the dog hair on mine and it picks up quite well. Overall Im really happy with the V8. It has a ton of power for a stick vacuum cleaner. They claim its quiet, and I agree its much less noisy than the vast majority of cleaners Ive used. And what I appreciate the most about it is that its just as powerful at cleaning stairs with a small attachment connected as it is when its cleaning the floors with the main cleaning head. It seems every vacuum I use, it is lacking in this area. I usually struggle to get my stairs clean. But the V8 does it all. Love it!
