Crucial MX500 500GB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD, up to 560MB/s - CT500MX500SSD1(Z)

What load times? Ha! Its amazing, cheap and Crucial has a new fan with me. Bought one for my first PC build and its been nothing short of amazing for all the games I play.

Tried to get myself a decent SSD on budget for new gaming PC – that Crucial (2TB) unit seems to fit the bill and purpose. Upon receiving it, unit is not recognized by either BIOS or Windows on 2 different computers and have wasted half of my Sunday trying to make it work. I guess this is the last time I giving a try to this brand, despite all the positive reviews. Also, have to pay for packing of return shipping (Shipping itself is free, but packaging is not) – another bummer. I guess lesson learned here - dont be cheap and go with Samsung...

The Crucial MX500 will perform as well as more expensive SATA SSD models without the premium price. The only thing that would be significantly faster is an NVMe/PCIe SSD, and not all computers can use those.

Even though I downsized from 1TB to 500GB (by moving archive files off to an external drive,) I am very happy with the performance. Boot time has dropped from several minutes to 15-20 seconds. Startup times for applications and web page loading times have also dropped significantly. Cant comment on longevity yet as this was a Black Friday purchase, but I am extremely pleased with performance improvement so far.

Using this drive as a part of my work-bench. As a person that works with a lot of loading and 3D-based engines, I greatly appreciate the added speed. Been using for some months and so far have had stable performance.

Ho messo lSSD nel mio MacBook Pro 2012. Prima avevo il Samsung EVO da 250GB. Dovendo cambiare lSSD per incrementare lo spazio sono passato al Crucial MX500 da 500GB dopo consiglio di un amico che aveva letto ottime recensioni di questo modello. Non ho eseguito test di velocità in lettura e scrittura prima e dopo il cambio di SSD (si possono trovare in Internet), ma la sensazione è quella di un SSD che non ha nulla da invidiare rispetto alle altre marche. Sono 3 mesi che lo sto utilizzando e non ha mai dato nessun problema. Ottimo SSD!

Dopo la clonazione del vecchio disco HDD sul nuovo SSD, in alcuni minuti lho installato su un portatile abbastanza datato ma sempre ben equipaggiato (DELL Inspiron 1720), il portatile ha acquisito immediatamente una velocità sorprendente sia nellavvio dei sistemi operativi (Windows Vista x86 e Windows 7 Ultimate x64) che in tutte le prestazioni di software e di archiviazione. Sono molto soddisfatto dellacquisto fatto, e sicuramente ne acquisterò altri!!!
