Crucial MX500 500GB 3D NAND SATA 2.5 Inch Internal SSD, up to 560MB/s - CT500MX500SSD1(Z)

Purchased the drive in January 2019 for a laptop upgrade. Completed the installation and was initially happy with the performance improvement, however four months later the drive is not detected by the laptop and Im unable to access the OS or recover any files. I have attempted all the typical troubleshooting stuff, but this drive is kaput. Seriously not happy with what I feel is wasted money and time on my part.

I cant comment too much on this product as it was bought for my grandson on his b/d. He is super happy on how fast his computer is now running.

Had IT guy install. Laptop works great now

Installed in place of Mackintosh hard drive in my MacBook Pro (mid 2012). Also upgraded the ram (2 x 8gb). Did a clean install of the operating system. The MacBook literally opens to desktop within 5-10 secs of lifting the lid! Im gobsmacked tbh as whilst I was expecting a boost to performance this is faster than I can remember it running when new! Thats saved replacing what was a limping machine for hopefully the foreseeable future!

This is the best deal I found on a 500 GB SSD. Perfect if you only have a SATA drive on your laptop. Easy to transfer from your original HDD

I have NEVER had a failure with Crucial memory or Crucial SSDs.

I use a number of these drives, very happy with performance given its limited to the SATA interface. The M.2 PCIE drives are just so much faster where speed is needed, so I now use the SATA SSDs as general storage. Having said that, if youre moving from a spinning hard drive, these are a great improvement.
