> 3 dayTakes some getting used to and is a bit of a pain taking down & putting up every time, but is way less finicky than the spring open/folding reflectors, this provides way more coverage - that is adjustable to some degree, plus doesnt look as tacky! UPDATE!!! Taking off stars because it broke on me at a critical spot on the top base of the fulcrum, so no longer maintains hold because the top plastic cap attachment snapped off raising rod, was found this way in car just this morning and had only bought it end of Jan21, so just under 1 year of use, with proper use & no abuse, product failed on its own.

> 3 dayI returned these the same day they arrived. I bought two of these units for our cars and was disappointed right out of the box. One of the shades had a seam rip the entire length of the spine. The needle holes were there in the fabric, but no thread! Something that should have been obvious in final inspection before packaging. Also, these units don’t fit as well as described, in spite of one reviewer indicating the same model and year vehicle as mine and saying the fit was “perfect”. It wasn’t perfect at all. Also, I see why other reviewers commented on scratching the dash and pillar trim. I didn’t have mine long enough to experience that, but keep reading. My biggest complaint is how far back from the windshield this shade needs to be placed. It will not go between the rear view mirror and the windshield, so you need to figure out how to wedge it in place on the business side of the mirror and fold down the visors. That is tough to do. The tips of the spines are padded, but not well and wedging them into the pillar trim will quickly wear out those pads. Being that far back into the cockpit the visors cannot fold down completely; maybe straight down at best. In that position, the visors are in the way and make getting in and out of the vehicle a bit more difficult. The real issue is that if the shade needs to sit 8” to 10” behind the windshield to miss the mirror, that’s a large volume of space heating up. I can’t see how that helps; when you take the shade down, all that super heated air will mix with the cabin air. I’ll stick with my twist and fold spring steel shade. It hugs the inside face of the windshield and has worked well for four years. The umbrella-type shades look slick and appear to be a great idea, but a one (or two) size fits all approach doesn’t work. The shade needs to be between the mirror and windshield and be adjustable to fit the windshield area appropriately without wedging or forcing the spines, and sit as closely to the inside of the windshield as possible so the visors can be folded down completely to secure it. More expensive units may have solved these problems, but I’m not interested in trying them at this point.
