> 3 dayThe printer is fast and simple to use, but I am disappointed in the print quality of photos.

Greater than one weekFor the price, its worth it. Pros: - Decent quality. - Price: I bought mine from Wal-mart for $29.95. Cons: - NO paper tray. Which means that once it is done printing each page, that page will fall to the floor. - Ink. I spend $35 per set (1 color, 1 black cartridge). They dont last long. I had a 250 page report to print out (no color, all black and white text) I put in brand new cartridges before and did not get through the entire thing. So it took me 2 of each to do 250 pages. I know other brands like HP you can get more out of for less money. Do the research before you buy. Look at the cost of the printer AND the cost of the ink. If the manufacturer does not tell you how many pages each cartridge will print; keep looking.

Greater than one weekThe first one I received didnt work right out of the box. A new one was sent which is fine. It is an attractive unit, however, in order to keep a supply of paper in it, you must open the top and front for operation which spoils the looks. I dont use it too much, so I just keep paper elsewhere and keep the unit closed.

11-11-2024I picked one of these up at Walmart years ago and have been happy with the quality of the prints, (though as others have stated, it does drink a lot of ink!). The main problem I have had started about a year after I got it. I dont use it very often, either. The front door ALWAYS triggers an error message that the door is not open and stops printing. This happens EVERY TIME, and the DOOR IS MOST DEFINITELY OPEN. I eventually have to actually sit next to the printer and hold the door down with force, in order to get the printing done. I have searched and havent found many other cases of this happening, so I have no idea what the issue is. I was always going to try to trick the sensor, but never got around to it. The quality is good, but I will probably go with an Epson next time around. I had Epsons first model color ink jet printer and it was a beast! Huge, heavy, and very expensive. But you know what? Even when I finally put it out to pasture when it was 12 years old, it still worked! It was a real workhorse. No more Canon printers for me.

> 3 dayIm disappointed! After reading many reviews and all the technical specifications, I did not foresee this difficulty. Today I purchased this machine to install on my Macintosh, operating system OS X.4, which all the specs say is compatible, but the installation CD states that it will work only with operating system OS X.5. So now what? Back to the store I go, I guess. False advertising Id call it.

> 3 dayHi, i was faithful to Canon printers, this was my 3rd canon printer... I hated Epson printers cuz since long time ago, the epsons automatic features and ink level sw were not accurate... this was the main reason why i have been faithful to canon printers... but not anymore, i had s200, ip1500, now this one... and seems to be that as others say, there are chips in each cartridge, and my original black and color cartridges are no longer recognized by the printer, the printer sw says there is no more ink, but there IS still ink left.... I guess canon become very greedy... shame on you canon... i was so loyal to your brand for nothing...

> 3 dayLIKED THE PRINTER at first, BUT HORRIBLE DEAL. . . The Printer controls your ink use through MICRO CHIPS! For example, it tells you when you need ink, so you are a slave to it. I only print BLACK & WHITE, but the color gets used up! How is this possible?? AND WORST OF ALL, you must replace this (UNUSED) Color Cartridge BEFORE you can print again!! UGH. I hate this so much. Everything was going so well. . . DO NOT BUY unless you are made of money and enjoy going to STAPLES all the time for refills!!!

> 3 dayI bought this for my wife who was always having trouble with her HP printer. I myself have a Canon Pixma iP6000D and have had great success with it. The iP2600 is smaller, simpler and good-looking in black. And works just as well.

> 3 dayI bought this printer about 3 yrs ago for $30 at Wal-mart, and at the time I thought maybe I should buy a all-in-one instead. But now Im really satisfied with this product. I guess whether the product will continue working is dependent on users using manner. I think Canon has some very good products. I bought a printer for about 3 yrs, a copier for about 2, and both still work properly.

> 3 dayIve been using Canon printers happily since the very first Bubble Jet. Over the years I learned how to use bulk ink, relatively inexpensive non-OEM cartridges, etc. Ive used a few HP printers, but they always seemed to develop hardware or other problems after a year or so. So I picked up the ip2600 for general use, mainly in my home office, where I simply want something to print documents (usually in fast mode greyscale). Occasionally something in color. When I want to do prints I use an ip3500, in the basement, which does a much better job. This printer will take you to the poor house. It goes through these tiny and over-priced chipped cartridges at a stunning rate. The overall quality is pretty good. Not brilliant, but certainly passable. But, holy cow, Canon has joined the rip-off ranks. So, now this one goes to the basement for emergency purposes only. Come on guys, if youre going to do these chipped cartridges, at least make them with decent capacity at a fair price.
