I bought this printer about 3 yrs ago for $30 at Wal-mart, and at the time I thought maybe I should buy a all-in-one instead. But now Im really satisfied with this product. I guess whether the product will continue working is dependent on users using manner. I think Canon has some very good products. I bought a printer for about 3 yrs, a copier for about 2, and both still work properly.

The new printer straight out of the box showed a jam signal. The Canon service technician on the phone could not help us. We are suppose to find a Canon service dealer and have them repair it.

My old printer died and I had a lot of ink cartridges for it. I am so glad I found a compatible printer for the cartridges and the printer works like a dream! And the price was reasonable!

I bought this used for a reasonable price. When it first arrived I kept getting an error when trying to install the ink cartridges. Turns out the printer had sat for a few months. I cleaned the heads and the cartridge, and all is well. I wanted a printer that you can purchase re manufactured ink for. I didnt want to spend a lot on ink. Secondarily, I wanted a printer that printed a decent amount of b/w per min. Lastly, I wanted it to be portable. I am 100% satisfied with this printer. I do not have experience with the photo printing, only black and white.

Ive mostly used this printer for the last few years of college; alot of text, color powerpoints, etc. but not so much full-size color photos. I agree it is a bit of an ink sucker but I have found you can get quite a bit of mileage from the cartridges after the low warning comes on. I keep a new cartridge handy and dont replace until it physically runs out. The occasional reprint is worth it to me because of how many more jobs I can get out of it that way. Other than that, the printer has held up beautifully to a few years of active use and I have no complaints about style, function, or features. A good overall printer, I think, if youre not photo-heavy and willing to max the cartridge.

This is a cheap printer, and I dont mean merely the price. The feeder on mine went bad in less than a year. It would only intermittently grab the paper to print and times when it did it would start printing further down the page than I specified. Color ink doesnt last very long and, for me, the prints came out with faded color after a while. Avoid.

I bought this about 18 months ago and it still works fine. My reason for purchasing was wanting to have both my printers use the same ink cartridges and my research showed this model did. Amazing how ink cartridges are not standardized, even within a manufacturers models. This model was out of production, but found it on Amazon! Buying bulk cartridges makes more sense this way. Wouldnt it be a great selling point if one of the printer companys offered a standardized cartridge for all its printers? If not all, then at least a long running set of models. Good little printer for the price.

It just works. Apple or PC no problem setup. This is my second Canon and I love it!

I like the printer so far - havent done much with it except print text, so I dont know how it does with pictures. Ive had it for about a month and the black ink jet ran out, but I have printed quite a bit with it so far.
