> 3 dayWe’ve had the pleasure of homing many dogs over the course of our lifetimes. Both puppyhood and old age oopsies have seen more carpets torn out and rugs thrown away. It’s rare to find a product that blows your mind, but this machine really does. We were able to save a 5 year old carpet that embarrassed us with the small strong of pee when guests arrived. You’ll get your money back quickly if you’re an animal lover!

> 3 dayUsed for some pretty deep stains, unfortunately. Did a good job, not sure they could be fully removed, but it took 85% of it out. Ging to try again. Pretty easy design, and unlike a typical floor model, this one has CAPACITY. Large water tank is separate from waste tank, so you can go longer between changes. Recommended.

> 3 dayIve been using the Bissell Big Green for 2 weeks now to fully clean the carpets in my house. A total of 16 hours use so far. I wanted to make sure Ive used it a good bit before reviewing it. This machine is probably one of the best carpet cleaners Ive ever owned. It cleans extremely well, carpets are dry within a few hours, it was packaged well, easy to assemble (because there was no assembly), and easy to use. I wondered if it could hold up for hours use at a time and it had no problems with long uses, which is great for me since I would be using it long periods to clean a whole house, and soon my parents home. This thing really is a beast at cleaning and will make your floors come clean and look a lot better, but if youre expecting say, 10 year old floors to look brand new again, its not a miracle maker, you will still have the wear down on the floors, theyre not going to fluff back up to brand new standards just by using this machine. I used the free bissell cleaner that came with it, and I used a cleaner I got from Lowes, Zep Extractor carpet cleaner and the Zep actually cleaned better, and pulled out stains the Bissel cleaner couldnt so Ill just be using the Zep. Pros: Tank Storage...It holds a lot of water, making your trips to go refill and empty the dirty water containers less than the rug doctor. ((I will say though, I saw some reviews stating they could do an entire room with just one container, I wasnt that lucky really, but my carpets were pretty dirty, and my rooms are pretty big, it took 3-4 trips to empty and refill per room for me, which is still a lot better than a rug doctor or the cheaper carpet cleaners Ive used before like my old bissell proheat that would have me emptying an refilling constantly)). Cleaning Power....So far there hasnt been a stain I could not get out of any of my carpets. Carpet Drying time is just a few hours, this machine sucks up a lot of the water that is put out, making dry time 10x better than any other cleaner Ive used over the years. Ease of Use.... So simple to use, easy to manuver(its tall though so its not going to fit to clean under much, Id suggest moving objects to clean under them then putting them back, tanks filling and emptying is so fast and easy, making it less a chore to clean your carpets. Attachment hose is long and easy to use...Long cord, cleaning tool hose is long and easy to clean. Ease of cleaning...This machine is probably the easiest cleanup Ive ever had with a cleaner before. I take the containers out, rinse them, put them back empty, press a button on the bottom to lower the brush out, clean behind it, and clean the brush with ease, 3 minutes top to clean, love that. Easy to put up and carrying about. There are a lot of pros I can go on and on with, but those are my main ones..... Cons: The dirty water container can sometimes leak a few drops onto your just cleaned floor, as youre carrying to empty, very annoying but its just a few drops and easy to avoid by holding my hand or a wash cloth under it as I carry it to empty. I can live with that as well as this thing cleans. The brush bristles, while brushes up and cleans well, could be better, it takes several passes over an area to make sure its clean. The proheat I had had a better brush than this one, but I will say this one is so much easier to clean than the proheat and doesnt get hair all tangled around it like other cleaners Ive had, so I can live with it since its only a minor for me. Like all cleaners can and will do, it will leave fuzzballs here and there if you have pets that shed, no matter how well youve vacuumed an area before cleaning, its just that darn good at sucking up all the dirt/hair/debris in your carpets. You can either pick them up immediately, or go back over it to have it suck it up. If you leave it on the carpet while you go about cleaning and pick it up later there will be a dirty spot where the fuzzball was, because the cleaner while picked up the fuzz also picked up dirt along with it and is mixed with the fuzz.. So Id suggest picking it up quickly, dont let it sit. The dirty water container...I wish it had a handle on it like the bottom container. The dirty water has a top to it but once you take it off there goes the handle you had while youre emptying it, making it awkward while emptying the dirty water, and you have a chance of dropping it while emptying, spilling dirty water. The attachment hose....while its very long and easy to connect, use, and sucks up water very well, the brush part is not very good . Its a line of tiny brushes that dont make for good cleaning really, since you cant really scrub well with it. Which is bad, because the cleaner wont clean about an inch or two near the walls of your room and you need the attachment to clean those parts of the room. Despite the few cons, Id recommend this cleaner, and I dont regret spending the extra money for its superior carpet cleaning.

> 3 dayI have a great Bissell shampooer that is a pet model. Also have the little green machine. The bigger one I have works great but leaves too much water in carpets and rugs. So I bought this model thinking this was a better choice. I’ve used it two days now. It’s very heavy. It’s very hard to maneuver. It doesn’t get up against walls so need to use the little green machine after. It sucks up the water better but not by much. I’m not over saturating! It’s exhausting to use this! My other one is like vacuuming. This is like moving your fridge! Pluses: long cord, long hose. Fairly easy to assemble after filling with water and cleaner. Very easy to clean dirt chambers. I’ll keep it but probably pay someone to use it next time. Think twice! I’m not frail. I have the strength but wasting energy on moving sofas and chairs to expend way too much more on using the shampooer is a deal breaker for me.

> 3 day****UPDATE***** I rarely write updates to products I review but for this item I felt I had to. We have two cats and a dog and one of our cats has been having intestinal issues and is pooping on our downstairs carpet and hairballs appear there as well. Our dog eats grass and once in a while leaves us a little pile of green goodness. Needless to say, our house can sometimes get spotty on the carpets. When these things happen I use the Bissell spot pet cleaner in the can and try to get the spots out the best I can, which doesnt quite do the job. Yesterday I took out the Big Green Machine and tackled the issue head on and our carpet looks new again. This thing takes out stains that have been there for six months. It is amazing. I didnt think the small attachment brush would do much because the bristles are stationary, they do not rotate, but damn if it didnt thoroughly clean the stains as well. It is a phenomenal machine. And even though I vacuumed the house with my Shark, the Big Green Machine still picked up a ton of hair when cleaning. The suction power is amazing. When you are done, the carpet is moist, but not wet, and it dries quickly. My niece brought over a rug she was using as a runner for her hallway. My sister and her did everything they could to clean the thing, but it was a white rug and there were spots all over it and it looked dingy. I used my cleaner on her rug and it came out looking new. This product gets rave reviews and there is a good reason for that. It is one of the best designed products for cleaning floors I have ever used. It works better than any machine I have rented. It is awesome! ****ORIGINAL REVIEW**** I received my Bissell Big Green Deep Cleaning machine yesterday. I opened up the box and was cleaning my carpets within 15 minutes. I was so excited about this product I had to write the review before I finished cleaning all my carpets. Before I purchased this product I did a ton of research. Amazon knows me so well it put this item on a blitz sale and I bought it immediately. Knowing what I know now I would have paid regular price for it, but I am very happy I got it on sale for cheaper than listed. It comes pre-assembled. The handle folds down so that is how it is in the box. You lift it out, it is about 45 lbs., put the handle in the up position, empty out the dirty water tank which contains a bottle of cleaner and some cardboard, and then read the directions. We have four animals. Two dogs, one is a senior, and two cats. There have been several accidents on the carpet in one are where we have neglected it. Since we are hosting Christmas this year I decided I needed to get a new cleaner. Our other carpet on the main level was simply dirty and there was a spot where the cats knocked over a Christmas tree and spilled old, stale dirty tree water on the carpet. I thought there was no hope for this stain since a cleaning company that used enhanced water tried to clean it and had zero success. I have enclosed before and after pictures of this stain. It 100% removed it and the carpet looks like new. I also read other reviews and I did two things for the main stain caused by the pets. First I vacuumed every inch where I was going to clean. Next, I went over the carpet one time with no solution in the machine just to get the carpet wet. I heard this helps with cleaning. Next, I put in the solution and cleaned parts of my carpet. The parts without pet stains looked fantastic and it pulled out a ton of dirt and even more pet hair. Since it worked so good I ran to the local big box store and bought the pet stain and odor removal formula, the oxy-booster, and a spot stain remover. I then attacked the stain with a vengeance. Next I doubled the amount of cleaner I put in for the pet stain. Someone else mentioned this and it did seem to do a better job. I was very impressed with many things about this machine. First, it really and truly cleans better than professional carpet cleaners. I would never go back. Next, the machine weighs 45 lbs. or so but it is easy to move back and forth. It cleans in both directions. I went real slow over the heavily soiled areas and made many passes over them (usually four). The work was slow and steady but the water I dumped out was extremely dirty. Also, I took out several huge handfuls of pet hair from the sink strainer and pieces that the machine kicked out. No matter how good you vacuum you will pick up more pet hair. The suction is tremendous. When you are not pushing in the button to dispense the soap then it acts like a wet/dry vac and it takes the excess water out of the carpet. The carpets dried very fast compared to professional machines. The fresh water container and the dirty water container are easy to remove and easy to replace. It is one of the best designed and best working machines for what it is designed for, than most any other product I have used. The only con I can think of is that I told my mom about this machine and now she wants me to come over and clean her carpets.

> 3 dayIve tried a variety of carpet cleaning machines. I dread carpet/rug cleaning!!!! I finally decided I needed to invest in something that worked WELL so got this machine. Wow it works!!! Even on a shag rug. The key I think is to pretreat any very dirty areas with the solution (dilute in a spray bottle or even in a hand held compression spray container...the kind you mix fertilize/weed killer in). If the solution can sit on the carpet/rug even for 10min it makes a big difference in how clean the carpet/rug will get. Then use the cleaning machine. It takes a few passes but it gets it clean. Take a bit of time going over the area several times if you want it almost dry. I cleaned a shag rug a few hours before I had company and it was clean and dry in a very short period of time. I went over the rug very well with just suction and it was almost completely dry. To get the last bit of perfect cleaning... Do a final clean with just hot water in the machine. Leaves the carpet/rug soft with no cleaning residue left in the carpet/rug.

Greater than one weekLet me start by saying I have never written a customer review before but feel compelled to take the time to write one now for this product. I made the mistake of purchasing very expensive wall to wall carpet in an off white color for my large family room. This room is used by my family of 2 small children as well as a family daycare. Need I say more, big mistake. I have owned the carpet for just over a year and was at the point of having it professionally cleaned every month for the price of $75 each time. The rug would look great when my professional left but by the time the rug dried most of the stains would resurface. Professional kept saying there really wasnt anything he could do about that. I was on the verge of ripping up the carpet and installing hardwood when I researched carpet cleaners for myself and after reading dozens of reviews decided I had nothing to loose by trying the Bissell Big Green. The first thing I was thrilled about was that it came fully assembled and I was shampooing carpet 15 minutes after the Fed Ex driver dropped it off. I started with a small area rug I have by the front door. There were no major stains on the carpet but thought if things didnt go well with the shampooer it would be a small loss to throw the rug away. I only wish I had taken before and half way through photos because I couldnt believe the difference. I thought the rug was only marginally dirty but in truth it was filthy. On to the family room. I used the Bissell Pre-treat, waited a few minutes and dug in. The machine is easy to use, very similar to a vacuum cleaner. I went over areas without stains one time and any area that had big stains I went over twice. The rug looks absolutely brand new. Even the stains that the professional said would never come up have disappeared. There were even three stains of cranberry juice which I believed would never come up. The room was dry enough to walk on with a few hours. After the family room I was so thrilled that I kept going, cleaning all my area rugs that are on all my hardwood floors throughout the house and everything came out perfectly. Next, I did my upholstered sofas and chairs. You have to believe with a house full of small children and their friends that keeping all these surfaces clean is next to impossible. However, at this point I feel this is easy enough to do every month if need be. I am now going to friends houses to clean their carpet. (Truthfully, they have asked to borrow it but it is now my absolute favorite appliance and I dont want to take the chance that anything will happen to it.) People in other reviews commented on the heaviness of it making it difficult to carry up stairs, etc. but I took off the two water tanks and carried them separately and didnt find it heavy to move at all. Also, the entire basement of my home is covered in berber carpet where the main daycare area is and it cleaned all the carpet beautifully without causing any damage or fussiness as was mentioned in other reviews. The one thing I wish it had was an indicator to let you know when the clean water/shampoo runs out. I made several passes when the tank was empty now I just keep an eye on the return water tube. This was a big financial investment for me but I feel it will pay for itself in a matter of months.

> 3 dayWe had usually hired professional carpet cleaners for years, twice a year, each visit about the price of this cleaner, just to have the carpets dirty again in a matter of days or weeks. I made an executive decision, said enough, and looked for the machines with the top reviews, regardless of price. This one came out near the top despite not being the most expensive. My wife was skeptical but when she saw the results she was won over. Adapter for upholstery cleaning a big plus. And trial size cleaning solution bottles included makes it easy to use right out of the box. But water does need to be changed after every 20-30 mins (half a large room) of use. Other than that, well worth it!
