> 3 dayThis is a great gaming monitor! It truly is 144hz, has great IPS paneling, and lots of different modes to choose from. I actually liked the shadow boost setting, especially for games like Metro Exodus. It also has probably the best mount I’ve ever seen on a monitor. It’s so sturdy and has many adjustment options. I had no dead or stuck pixels first try. If you’re not looking to spend too much but still want a great monitor, this is the one for you.

> 3 dayI actually own 3 of these...two that work, one that is broken that I sent back for warranty service. The monitor was mounted on my stand when I purchased it and had not been moved from there until I turned it on and the display was scrambled. I sent it to ASUS (RMA USDAN50820) and, in about 4 days got an email from them saying it had been received. A few days after that I received an email stating that they had discovered scratches on the bezel indicating user damage. The repair estimate totaled $300. I ordered another one (for $269) and asked that the original be returned to me. It is in transit and I will update this with photos when it arrives. They did send photos of the damage which are in a pdf format and I cant upload them here. The photos are extremely blurry and show nothing helpful. I am not a gamer, in fact I am a Nurse and do most of my charting from home. I work only on call and need a comfortable to look at monitor to use on my dual display. I often have to have multiple programs open at one time and use the dual display to make this more efficient. I will not purchase anything more from this company until they make good on their promise. Would I recommend these to anyone else? Not anyone I liked. This is not the end...just the end for now. I will have no problems steering anyone away from Asus.

> 3 dayWe have had this nearly 11months, and so far it is doing well. I like the fact that we can reduce the blue light and it is large and clear enough for us. But to be honest, we are not gamers; I bought it because of the reviews and a few other features, and I didnt want a camera in my monitor since if we need that we can use a laptop.

> 3 dayExcellent monitor for gaming, it is also g-sync compatible. The colors are great and I had no issues with dead pixels. Definitely worth buying.

Greater than one weekI bought this monitor because I wanted something to play games, with build-in speakers and height adj. PROs: - Really good stand. Sturdy with full moment. Very good ergonomically and it could become a really good secondary monitor in future. - Refresh rate good for a mid-range pc build - Nice colors and good brightness. - Blue light filter is awesome. Nothing really impressive but I love it. - VGA connector. It might be helpful for some. In my case makes me feel this is quite old monitor. CONs: - In my case has poor connectivity (only one HDMI and no USB connections) - Low volume speakers. I live in a place that during daytime is quite noisy and I have problems if I use monitor speakers (even at 100%). They sound quality is ok but the volume is low for me. I use it through the Display Port cable and audio in plug directly to my motherboard (bit better than the DP cable) but nothing really noticeable. Make sure you have the change the volume through the menu, which is different from the PC itself for some reason, because it has it at 50% by default. - No HDMI cable included. At least my box did not come with one. - Really hard to plug in cables (Power, HDMI and DP). Best way to do it is turn the monitor 90 degrees and plug everything you need otherwise you will struggle a lot. - Buttons at the bottom right corner and the menu are kind of unpleasant to navigate at the beginning. There is nothing to differentiate the power button to others (touching it), therefore I constantly turn the monitor off. Now I get why some monitors come with this little joystick at the back. - Dont understand MOBA mode. I play league from time to time, and I do not know why it would help to increase the red tones to the max. It looks horrible. If you reach this far, you might think it is a bad monitor but in general is a good choice. I believe the feature of this monitor is the stand. There are better choices for same or less money than this one. This Asus monitor does the job done but it does not excel at any and other features feel just gimmicky.

Greater than one weekVG249Q advertised as a 144hz, 1ms, IPS, Freesync display, but does any of that hold up, and is it all worth it? Lets start with the positives: +great picture quality quality, especially sRGB mode. +both the displays I used had agreeable blb. +Response time settings dont impact picture quality. +great stand! quite easy to put together. +Freesync and 144hz work flawlessly. Now, lets get to the negatives: -Bad tinny speakers, do not expect to be using this monitor without separate speakers. -confusing osd with limited options -you cant configure color profiles, monitor comes with preconfigured profiles, and if you dont like them, youre out of luck. -horrible quality control, the first monitor I ordered had dead, and stuck pixels, on top of washed out colors, although the blb wasnt too bad. thankfully, this is Amazon, so I sent it back for a replacement. the replacement monitor itself had good color recreation (what was advertised in the first place), minimal blb, much better than the first, but that was it, the replacement too had stuck pixels which wouldnt go away no matter what I tried. But seeing as theres a certain pandemic going on atm, and increased shipping times, I bit the bullet, and kept it as I didnt want to bother, or waste any more of my time. -build quality could be better. -worse overshoot than the 24g2 on max response times. Firstly, definitely not anywhere near the advertised response time (no surprise there), but it is still the slowest monitor, response time wise around this price range with my testing pegging it a good 2-3ms slower on avg. at 9.83ms than the 24g2 at 7.53ms, and this is on 100 trace free, its fastest setting, and combined with worse overshoot than the 24g2 at these settings as well, its not really enticing if youre a competitive gamer, though keep in mind that this display definitely has better picture quality at those settings than the 24g2. -overpriced. Overall, this monitor IS NOT WORTH the price premium, considering it costs around $80-100 on a good day compared to its competition. It is a ~$150 monitor masquerading around as a $249 monitor. If youre in the market for such a monitor, Id recommend looking into cheaper, and imo better alternatives such the AOC 24G2, MSI G241, the Acer Nitros around this price range, or the VP249QGR (which is this exact same display, with a worse stand for consideriably cheaper) before Id recommend buying the VG249Q. Sorry, ASUS, but this monitor truly is not worth its asking price especially when your competition is offering much better products at much cheaper prices.

Greater than one weekBought the monitor a few months ago, works great, is absolutely amazing but the only issue for me is that it is much to big for my desk which is not a very long length. Thus, I am desperately trying to get rid of it for a fair price since it is too late to return. Selling it for 200 or best offer. message my reddit u/usa-chann
