Arctic Silver 5 AS5-3.5G Thermal Paste

Arctic Silver 5 is the go-to standard for thermal compound. Any processor Ive applied it to hasnt overheated. Ive been using the stuff for years.

I didnt measure temperature but I did have a heating problem until I applied this.

Arctic Silver Thermal Compound has always been the leader in thermal grease, as far as I am concerned! I have an ASUS gaming laptop that would constantly overheat, after I tore it down to its core I went ahead and cleaned out the old stock grease and applied a small amount of Arctic Silver.

The syringe works great and I was able to easily dispense tiny amounts of the compound. After applying the thermal compound, I was able to drop a ThinkPad T400s temperatures by over 10 degrees Celsius.

I was on a brink of buying a new laptop because my Sony VAIO was just so hot, loud, and slow. Using this stuff and a youtube video or two has resulted in my laptop coming back to its original condition (practically). Much faster now and no insane fan running 24/7. When it does run, its mellow. Same exact thing with my PS3. Used to fire up the fan at max power even if I was just on the Sony splash screen. Now, its nice and quiet. Fan gets to low when watching a blueray and thats pretty much it. No insane max fan speed anymore.
