Arctic Silver 5 AS5-3.5G Thermal Paste

I just did a simple test utilizing a stock cooler with the stock thermal paste, and then another round of the stock cooler and the Artic Silver. temperatures were steady at around 45 degrees Celsius with the stock cooler, and 40 with the Artic Silver applied. The results were even better once I used my original CPU heatsink in my new build, the Corsair H80. With the original thermal paste it came in around 39 degrees, and with the Artic silver it came in at 33 degrees. Cant beat those results.

Between cleaning the fans and heatsink from clogged dust and using Arctic silver, my CPUs tems have dropped around 18 Celsius.. I am one happy customer :D

This is an excellent upgrade compared to the standard White generic thermal compound thats often typically used.

Works like its name. It looks silver and it keeps things cold just like in the Arctic, where stuff is really cold. Just make sure you apply it correctly. I personally like the spread method. But line, pea, smiley face, will probably also work.

No I havent tried Arctic Silver. I cant tell you how well it works. But I can tell you that the actual tube is half as big as I had expected. The total length is 2.5 while the total tube is only 1.5. That means that the plunger can only move an inch at most and probably less. That may be all you need. All I can say is that I was a little surprised.

I have been using AS5 since it first hit the market in I think 2005. I know theres arguments about what is the best thermal compound for CPU and GPU applications, but for me AS5 still is the one I always go to. I do a lot of copper shim mods and AS5 has never let me down. Just remember that a little goes a long way. If you need to layer this up to get contact, then you need a shim - go with copper.
