Performing great! but run a bit hot through...(with 280 AIO)

Great CPU for an AM4 Socket Motherboard. The CPU run a little hot (80c), but thats normal for the 5800x. These CPUs were made in 2020, so if youre using an older MB (like form 2018), dont forget to update your bios, otherwise you wont be able to boot your computer because the motherboard wont recognize the cpu.

The processor works well, but it gets very hot if it is not cooled with a high cooler. It is advisable not to install it on a B450 motherboard. It is better to install it on a X570 motherboard so that it doesnt get too hot and also in order to get the highest performance from it.

Upgrading from a 3700x, feels like going from a Miata to a Ferrari. The whole computer just... it’s just faster. Webpages, load times, boot times, more FPS in games. I definitely noticed a a big improvement in games that are heavy on single core workloads. For instance in Squad and Escape From Tarkov I am getting 30-45 FPS more then I did with the 3700x. I’m using a 2080ti and playing in 1440p, I had no idea how much the 3700x was bottlenecking my computer. MAKE SURE you enable “precision boost overdrive” in the bios and enable infinity fabric and set it to half of your RAM’s speed (up to 3600mhz) to get the most out of this cpu. The cpu will automatically boost to 4.8GHZ under load, and go back down to 3.8 when not under use. Make sure you have a good cooler though to take full advantage of PBO. Can’t get a new GPU right now? This cpu will likely make your system feel upgraded.

My singular complaint is that this particular model gets noticeably toastier than its more expensive / faster counterparts.

Absolutely killer processor, paired this with an RTX 2060, and in Warzone on highest possible settings 1440p, received a jump in FPS from about 50-60 on an R5-3600 to around 90-100, no overclocking, cooled by the amazing Noctua UH-12s, runs at 60 degrees celsius under load. Highly recommend, especially if you are steaming, running dual monitors, or like to have apps open in the background while gaming.
