Took a chance on a used part dont know if it was dishonesty or honest mistake but it would not work FYI if youre going to upgrade to a ryzen 7 look at your motherboards by us software first to make sure that its supported you will most likely have to upgrade your bios software (ours was already upgraded before we attempted to install the chip)

I am in love with the speed and multitasking capabilities of this processor. I was going to go for the Ryzen 9 3950x but I thought what am I going to do with 16 cores? I have never used a computer with more than 4 cores so I though that might be overkill. I am able to run any game I want at 60FPS and I can still do other tasks while the game is running. Very worth the price tag.

Bought this processor and an X470 MB for my sons gaming computer. This processor allows him to run all games at full settings with no bottleneck. Great value too.

So far no problems and working great. With no OC my MSI Dragon Shows it going at 3900 MHZ. I have no plan to OC it. Ive not done any tweaks on stock except downloading the newest drivers. If it keeps performing like it is I will be very happy.

This is an excellent processor for gaming. The stock cooler is sufficient even with a mid-range overclock. I undervolted it and overclocked it to 4200 using Ryzen Master and the idle temperatures are in the 40° to 50° c range. Never gets above 75° c when gaming or benchmarking even with the slight overclock. I do also have a case with a lot of fans. I would recommend undervoting it a bit to control the temperature even if you dont plan on playing with anything else. In general I find that this generation of AMD processors are very robust and will tolerate a wide range of voltages and clock speeds, but they seem to be overvolted at stock and run a bit hot.
