> 3 dayIts a good laptop. The casing is nice and doesnt scratch too easy. Graphics and the screen are clean. Small amount of storage but is able to fit another drive inside (I put a Seagate cude 2tb) but it tends to heat up fast on graphic intensive games. I suggest turning on power cool and getting a good laptop fan. Otherwise a pretty good laptop.

> 3 dayBought it to play some graphics-intensive games, such as Assassins Creed Odyssey and Shadow of Tomb Raider. Runs well until it starts overheating. For AC:O, the laptop would last a good 20 minutes before it starts to throttle, causing severe frame drops (60 -> 4fps), keeps stuttering for 10 sec, then back to normal for another 15-20 mins, and the cycle repeats. It gets annoying pretty fast, and makes the overclocking options redundant cuz it wont be able to stay at the overclocked speed for long and would start throttling even earlier.

> 3 dayThis thing is a beast straight out of the box, and with some upgrading will get even better! All gaming PCs as powerful as this one are going to get hot.. deal with it, or buy a less powerful machine

> 3 dayyes it eats that battery up fast if not plugged in but hey if you want longer battery life you dont buy a lappy that plays your games like this one do you want more power you use more power. a lot of people saying it heats up bad, however, I always use a laptop cooling pad with my laptops. I have not had mine heat up after having this laptop for a short time I am revising my review. it seems at first to be the most bang for your buck. I mean why pay more for the same amount of RAM Storage space graphics ETC no need to pay more for a name right? well, the truth is I am now having my system bog down even playing apps on facebook even the cheapest of laptop should run that stuff fine. so there is something wrong I try to run the Acer care center software that Acer gives you to keep your computer up to date running smoothly all that good stuff surprise the software locks up will not run I go to Acer webpage it is full of people trying to get that same problem fixed the best answer, uninstall it and reinstall a new copy from the sight. the problem that did nothing to fix it same trouble. ok so there is a support line just for the predator products call that they will help get the computer running correctly. they will read you the exact same things the webpage says to troubleshoot your problem they read it word for word. in the end, to fix it you need to clear the laptop reset it to a new install of the whole system oh we have done that 3 times already? it will work this time I assure you just reset it wait for it to finish. call us back if you have any more questions have a nice day. call them back when it did not work square one let us go to start menu and launch care center .... do your self a favor pay the little more for the premium brand dont forget the WARRANTY I purchased this computer mid December by mid January I was already trying to get my computer fixed not even 3 weeks old yet. it is now August and I still have a gaming computer that will not run games the WARRANTY has yet proved to be any more valuable than the writing you find on a bathroom wall at the gas station and I am thinking at this point the warranty will run out before anything is ever done about the problem. maybe my own fault as had gone to the Acer website and looked at what the people that already own one are pleading for help on I would have gone with something else the flaws with mine it seems are not uncommon I did give it 2 stars, not one as it is a working computer it was able to handle me writing this review just dont expect it to do much more

> 3 dayI read a lot of reviews about this laptop before I bought it. The main two problems reflected on the reviews are overheating and battery life, which I was concerned about. After two weeks using it, I think these problems arent big deals to me. I am mainly a CS:GO and DotA2 player and this laptop performed pretty well. I could reach at least 140 fps in any maps in CS:GO and could reach up to 250 fps under lowest graphic settings. The overheating problem do exist sometimes if u dont turn on Coolboost or maximize fan usage. Temperature could easily raise to 90+C and would result fps drop. Usually I turned on Coolboost and highest CPU temperature would be around 80C, which is acceptable. (A cooling pad might be helpful according to my friends but I dont think it is necessary for CS:GO or DotA2) Battery life is to be honest short. Only lasts 3 hours just typing files on Word. But usually I used it for gaming and could find a place to charge. Ill have to praise the 144hz screen and 1060GPU which makes the game flow smoothly. It actually helps a lot in FPS games. Additionally, the price was very attractive.

> 3 dayContrary to the product description this particular version of the Acer Predator Helios 300 Gaming Laptop does not support the 802.11ac Gigabit Wifi standard. This particular model, unlike previous models does not use the Atheros Wifi chipset. This model uses an Intel chipset which is not compatible with the 802.11ac standard.

> 3 dayIt is fast, good for gaming. You will definitely need extra storage. And the fan is a little bit loud.
