> 3 dayThe most important thing to say first of all while it can be overclocked I wouldnt suggest you try. Playing anything GPU or CPU heavy makes this thing run loud and hot, I would suspect you would be thermal throttling all over the place if anything. I would actually suggest to underclock.

> 3 dayIve owned my Predator Helios 300 for 2 years. Ive had to have it repaired three times--twice for black screen problems (covered by warranty) and now, after the warranty expired. the motherboard needs repair. Ive spoken with three tech places and they all agree that the motherboards Acer uses are not the best quality. One positive is that the warranty lasts two years and I only had to pay for shipping for the first two repair jobs.

> 3 dayGood Laptop but gets very hot and thermal throttles when gaming. Temps range from 90 to 98 degrees celcius and causes my games to drop frames intermittently. Had to use throttle stop to help with throttling. Cpu runs very fast and smooth. Gpu is not the greatest but decent enough to run my editing softwares and play casual games on medium to high settings.

Greater than one weekLoving this laptop so far. Great gaming performance. However as others stated it runs hot. It seems all laptops with this processor have this issue, its a chip that runs hot. The best solution Ive (and others) have found is too use a program called throttlestop and undervolt the I7 8750H a little bit. It wont hurt the chip or performance at all and now under max load my CPU never goes above 85C. There are plenty of tutorials online to show you how to do it. I do highly recommend this laptop.
