Good enough.
> 3 dayIm making this review because this page seems to be review hijacked by Acer and another corporation for a number of different monitors and there doesnt seem to be many reviews specifically about the Acer Nitro XFA243Y Sbiipr . Pros: -Stand is very ergonomic, albeit a bit wobbly at the base even though I tightened the screw -Low black-smear and motion blur thats commonly associated with VA monitors -Good contrast (non-professionally calibrated) -Solid color reproduction (non-professionally calibrated) -Good ports Cons: -Stand has terrible and almost pointless cable management. Theres always going to be at least a couple wires sticking out on either side of the monitor like antenna, and the clip at the back of the base serves basically no purpose for most desk setups. -Display settings in the menu dont save after the monitor wakes up from sleep unless you specifically set it as a profile -VA batman bloom effect seems particularly bad, even for a VA display. Viewing conditions in the dark make any content seem more grayish than its supposed to. It should be noted for any potential buyer of this particular monitor that the coverage on the internet is basically non-existent for it so youre basically SOL when it comes to other reviews, trouble-shooting, or calibration. I usually use sites like RTings for calibration help, but this time I had to painstakingly do it buy eye. Ironically, the IPS version of this monitor (XF243Y Pbmiiprx) is MUCH more popular in terms of reviews and such so If you dont care much about VA Id honestly recommend that one instead, if you can get a good deal on it of course.

Greater than one weekI bought this monitor back in 2018 for $200, and it is still just as good as it was when I first purchased it. Im actually sad that the price has shot up since 2018 because Im looking into purchasing a second one of these. I mainly use this monitor for gaming (with G-sync Compatibility enabled), streaming movies, and schoolwork. I really have no complaints about this product. If you havent used a 144hz monitor before, the difference between 60hz and 144hz is noticeable. Something as simple as moving my mouse cursor is just an overall better experience. The 1ms refresh rate is also noticeable compared to my old monitor which is at a 5ms refresh rate. If this monitor ever drops back down to $200, I would definitely purchase it again. At its current price of $300 (on the Acer website), there may be other products on the market that have comparable or better features.

> 3 dayLets start by saying this is a FREESYNC monitor that is G-SYNC ADAPTIVE. It has the software to correctly interact with the NVIDIA control panel when everything is installed properly but it is not a dedicated G-SYNC monitor. Why does that matter? What could be so bad? Who cares? Well if you are streaming and have two monitors or regularly tab out of game during loading screens to a different monitor the G-SYNC adaptive monitor flickers off, goes black, resets and causes Microsoft to try to reconfigure your monitor settings because now you have 1 less monitor to use. Wait the monitor turns back on but G-Sync isnt on anymore... (you dont notice, youre still wondering what just happened and you watched your black screens for 5 or 10 seconds as they figured themselves back out. So you tab back over to the game not getting to do what you tabbed out to do in the first place. When you tab back into the game G-Sync needs to come back on so the monitor flickers out again, your screens goes black, Microsoft loses its mind, you panic because you know the loading screens between games only last 20 to 30 seconds. The game screen comes back on but your frame rate is wrong because of a software issue. You have to go to settings and change the game from full screen mode to windows mode click apply, then back to full screen mode to fix the FPS issue. If your fast you get all of this done just in time to play. If youre not fast, or youre too confused by what just happened you get shot before picking up any weapon in the game and now you get to start this story over.... So if you get this outstanding monitor for the cost and image quality, its the only monitor you will be using and you dont tab out of game: 5 Stars (But dont buy another or well... read above....) If you bought this outstanding monitor but you tab out alot and use more than one monitor you are going to spend a few weeks trying to find the right settings to edit to minimize this gigantic G-Sync Adaptive Flaw. Best of luck.

> 3 dayBought this monitor back in 2019. Im about to build an entirely new, more powerful PC, and might consider purchasing a bigger monitor. Figured Id leave a review for this monitor as its a beast! I havent had a single problem with this monitor in the 3 years Ive owned it. Highly recommend if youre looking for a 1920x1080, 144hz monitor. Its an Acer, too, so I knew itd last me a long time.

> 3 dayAs another reviewer had mentioned, after about 7 to 8 months of use, now the monitor will occasionally just go black. You have to disconnect power, hit the power button to clear the memory, plug it back in and turn it back on. This works about 70% of the time. Other than that, the color accuracy is pretty poor. If youre playing games that have a lot of bright and dark scenes, youll either end up with washed out whites or lose all detail in blacks. This is especially present in games like Tarkov. If you buy this monitor I would suggest changing the gamma to 2.4 as it makes this monitor a little more usable. Overall, if youre playing games that have fairly consistent scene lighting like COD and youre wanting to try out 144hz for cheap, get this monitor. If you can afford something a little more expensive, I would avoid this TN panel and look at the newer 144hz 1ms IPS panels. P.S. The best thing about this monitor is the stand.

> 3 dayThese monitors are really very nice for $199. I bought 2 to set up on either side of my (also Acer) Predator 144Hz 35in monitor. I set them both up vertically to multitask and do home network monitoring. The fact that these cant rotate either direction sort of bothers me, as Id love to do some more in depth cable managing. Finding a good angle on the right monitor is a bit tough, but is doable. Colors are super washed when first set up, 10 minutes of tinkering made a world of difference. All in all, for $200 a pop, these are a great deal. I cant speak for longevity, but they feel and look pretty premium. The stands they come with are superb and adjustable to almost the max. I just wish they could tilt either way, and not just to the left.

> 3 dayGot this for $200 bucks and was well worth it. Returned my Sceptre Freesync monitor for this and was well worth the trade. The G-Sync compatibility actually works (people need to do their research and realize that this is FreeSync monitor that has G-Sync capabilities which is certified by Nvidia themselves) Picture quality is sharp and monitor looks like a bulky monster which I love. The stand is really big, but amazing for versatility of turning the monitor wherever you want (even vertically). Only downside is the weird default color/contrast. Theyre a bit weird with this monitor and needs lots of tweaking to your liking with the OSD settings. I also wish that this was edgeless, but its whatever. NOTE: You will need a flathead to screw in one of the stand pieces, they DO NOT give you one to setup the monitor so you will need your own. EDIT - April 2021... for the past two months or so Ive been having a stuck pickle popping in out and every once in the same area every once in a while... which can get annoying.

> 3 dayI bought this monitor back in 2019 december so its just been about 3 years. I am still using it as I speak and its been an awesome monitor. No dead pixels or anything, the only thing that has bugged me with this monitor is a group of atleast 2 or 3 stuck pixels that will be on my screen but to fix it all I do is barely push on my monitor where the pixel is and it goes away for a while, itll come back in weeks to months later but its not a huge deal to me, still a great monitor for the price.

Greater than one weekI sold my 60hz ultrawide for this 144 because I had upgraded my pc and thought its stupid to be getting 100FPS+ and only have the monitor show 60. Right away when I plugged it in, even from moving the mouse I could feel and see the difference. This monitor is great and has a lot of settings and allows you to save setting profiles within the monitors software. 24 is massive and the stand easily holds its weight and feels really fluid when adjusting the monitor. The only downside to this monitor is the sound is from 2 tweeters and it sounds like actual garbage. I would def. recommend sticking to your headset/external speakers. They shouldnt even have the speakers in the monitor its a waste!

> 3 dayMonitor has a good refresh rate but has issues with G-sync, specifically stuttering; hasnt had issue on other displays, unsure if its due to issues w/ drivers, settings on monitor/PC, etc. Color leaves a lot to be desired.
