Edit: after a little over 2 years of use, the display port plug stopped working. I tried different cables and combinations with my graphics card to confirm it is the display port on the monitor. The hdmi port still works, but limits it to 120 refresh rate. Kinda stinks, but still a good purchase. The picture is great, but the real gravy here is the response time. My last monitor was also 1ms, but was 60 fps. The difference between that one and this one is insane. Make sure you use a display port cable and set windows to be 144 fps. Loving how instant everything is. Moving pictures are very clear, its super easy to read moving text. Also the stand it comes with is amazing. I was planning on getting monitor arms, because I like my monitors a bit higher up then most stand accommodate. (If your sitting up straight and looking straight ahead, you eyes should be just below the top of the monitor). But the stand can have the monitor high enough that I dont need one. Also it rotates and can even tilt the monitor to be in portrait mode, which is pretty cool. 100% recommend. Great performance monitor for the price. I will be getting 2 more for my side monitors because I hate the delay that I now feel when using any other monitor.

I bought two monitors as I like playing games and keeping track of other things at the same time, such as YouTube videos, or Discord chat. Pros: Its 144Hz which makes things look very smooth. The stand is very adjustable, as advertised. The setup was pretty painless. Cons: The color temperature was a bit more yellow than I would like, no matter how much I tweaked the color settings, it always looked yellow. I also noticed a dead pixel after about 5 days of use. Viewing angles not particularly great. A minor nitpick but the power indicator LEDs on the bottom right of the screen feel just a tad too bright and they often catch my eye when playing games or doing work. For the price I dont think its bad, however I do intend to return the two I bought as theyre not quite what I need.

All works good. So far only thing I dislike are the buttons that are used to configure the screen settings. Also everytime I switch to gaming mode the reticle and frame rate shows. Wouldve been better if it could be disabled fully.

Good blacks No visible edge bleeding Very flexible stand I have it side by side with my main 4k 144hz monitor and I gotta say it aint that bad at all considering it is 1/5 of the price. I downloaded icc profile from rtings for this monitor, it allows to apply calibrated profile to this monitor for better colors. This is a very decent monitor for gaming and browsing. I found no problems with it although I wish it came with DP cable instead of hdmi.

I spent hours trying various settings and watching videos in an attempt to make this panel look good, unfortunately theres not much information out there on this panel. The ghosting effects are unbearable. The colors are awful, the gamma is awful, the shadows are awful, the refresh rate bounces allover from 50s to over 200 which causes a strange flicker effect on the panel -- It randomly goes from bright to dimmer, back to bright, back to dim, etc. Theres virtually nothing positive worth noting. Ive got a ASUS TUF Gaming 23.8” 1080P Monitor (VG249Q1R) Full HD IPS 165Hz -- It is flawless and beautiful, zero ghosting, vibrant colors, a completely different experience. Ill just go buy another one of those. The 5 star reviews must be for another model, because this Acer Nitro XFA243Y Sbiipr 23.8” Full HD (1920 x 1080) VA Gaming Monitor is not even worthy of a single star. Save up an extra $30-50 and get something better. DO NOT BUY.

Bought this for Nvidias new G sync compatibility feature since this monitor is cheapest verified to work. It works perfectly for making use of the new technology. Just an FYI though, you NEED a DisplayPort to connect your monitor to the PC or you cant use G sync compatibility. The monitor comes with the proper cord but if you only have HDMI or DVI you cannot run the G Sync stuff. My PC had a port but it is something I didnt know until I was setting it up. Pros: -G Sync Compatible. -144hz with 120hz and 100hz settings. -Adjustable stand. -Nice picture. -Great price. -Fast shipping. Cons: -Viewing angle is a bit weird when monitor is above you. Brighter at the bottom and darker at the top. I found something of a sweet spot but there is no angle to avoid it being brighter at the bottom than the top. - Default profile is pretty bad and has a lot of gamma issues. I found an ICC profile that gave me proper black and colors and it looks great but took awhile to find one that got the blacks right. Especially at 144hz. Once you find the right profile it looks great though. -Takes awhile to warm up. You will notice that things look a bit desaturated and bright until its on for a bit.

Out of the box the picture settings were very bright/ washed out. It took some time to get the screen adjusted to my preferences due to awkward menu controls. Monitor has options to save 3 profiles which is nice. I ended up creating 2 different profiles, since bright/colorful games needed to be darker. This made darker games a bit to dark so I can just switch back and forth for whatever the type of game being played. The only issue I have is resuming from windows does not always trigger the monitor to turn back on. My second 19 dell monitor resumes just fine. Restarting PC fixes the issue. The screen also auto cycles through its 3 channels (HDMI, DVI,DP). I wish there was a setting to manually switch this to only stay on Display port. Overall this is a good monitor. Could benefit from better documentation.

Everything is great, but you must change the default settings. Having the refresh rate glued to the screen isnt a great default (that has to be overwritten). The super sharpness setting also looked terrible to me, it creates way too many jagged edges and distorts the picture. This was all in game mode (I assume it helps the refresh rate) Past that, once youre set up youre good. I have yet to have an issue past fixing bad default decisions.

I bought this monitor to finally have a 144hz screen and g-sync for my 1070 SC video card. Its on an adjustable triple monitor stand in the middle of two BenQ 1ms 60hz monitors, the Acer being my primary and for games/movies. My only complaint is the same one most other owners have...out of the box the color/brightness/contrast settings are trash. I scoured google and reddit for an hour, trying different suggestions, until I got it right. With the recommend configs floating around the web, one size does not fit all, so you will probably have to tinker with the monitor settings for a bit to get it to work. Make sure youre on the latest video card drivers otherwise, like in my case, g-sync wont be an option in nvidia control panel. You also dont want the monitor setting OD or overdrive cranked up all the way, everyone says to leave it on normal.

Pros: Quality is great, my panel came shipped fine with no dead pixels or anything. 144hz, 1ms, 24inch monitor, with a good amount of adjustment in the stand. Gaming is smooth, super smooth, like wow this is going to make playing on my Xbox impossible smooth. This monitor is under 200$ not on sale, I think this will be the best deal for a monitor for a while. Cons: Out of the box the brightness is way high, colors are a bit washed out (like others have mentioned). This can be fixed by spending some time tweaking the settings though, I found setup values on Reddit that have helped but I still need to do some playing around. Okay here comes the one thing I hate about this monitor: switching input on this panel is such a chore. The moment the monitor looses signal from a source it starts cycling through DP, HDMI, DVI, but it doesnt seem to stay on each input long enough to actually detect the display port input source. For example; I have my monitor as a main monitor and a second old panel to the side. The Acer is set up as primary, but I also have my xbox hooked up through HDMI. Ill switch my computer to secondary display only, and turn my xbox on. The Acer cycles through inputs and find the xbox every time. When I turn my Xbox off and on my desktop go back to the extended desktop setting, the monitor will cycle inputs but skip right over the display port even though its hooked up to the PC. Ive even had the issue where after I do this cycle the PC has a hard time recognizing the Acer display through the Display port, and I have to unplug the Acer from the PC and plug it back in to have it actually recognize and send signal to the monitor. This is annoying. BUT, I paid 200$ for a 144hz 1ms 24 inch monitor, its hard to complain. I paid a discounted price for this monitor, and even though Ive been having this small issue I would buy this again for a 1080p build. In the future Ill probably save up a bit more for a second panel that has better input switching, but again if I had the same funds as before and was putting together a complete system on a hard budget even knowing what I know now, I would buy this in a heartbeat.

In competitive gaming, every frame matters. Introducing Acer"s XFA253Q gaming monitor - the Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution monitor that can keep up with your game play. Through AMD FreeSync Premium technology, the game’s frame rate is determined by your graphics card, not the fixed refresh rate of the monitor, giving you a serious competitive edge. Plus, users can enjoy comfortable viewing experience while gaming via flicker-less, low dimming and ComfyView display. The design saves space on your desk and lets you place multiple monitors side by side to build a seamless big-screen display. (UM.KX3AA.Z03).
