> 24 hourMy old Lenovo became more hassle to use for several reasons so I decided to just get a new laptop. Im not a computer nerd and my needs are very simple so I looked at several review sites for low-priced laptops and found that several recommended the Acer Aspire 5 Slim Laptop. Im very happy with mine, its light, thin, good looking, has a great display, back-lit keyboard and, to me, is blindingly fast. I like that it has a solid state drive as well. The only thing I dont like is the huge built-in mouse pad because its too easy to hit while typing; however its no issue for me because I normally use a wireless mouse so I keep the pad disabled. Another issue is it comes with something called Windows S mode which blocks the installation of programs that are not approved by Microsoft. Since almost all of the programs that I use (including the Chrome browser and Quicken) were blocked, I disabled the S mode. Once disabled, the S mode is gone for good and I say good riddance! Its a great machine if it fits your needs!

> 24 hourIm two days in and am becoming slightly frustrated. I like the PC, it was initially fast, but after a few software updates its lagging terribly and the mousepad is intermittently cutting out now requiring to be switched off and then on again to begin working (probably a software issue). However, the main hardware issue is battery life. It is not working so well with mixed usage and so, realistically, with screen brightness significantly down, if you stream, read articles and write a bit, consider six hours give or take a realistic look. Otherwise, love the screen (my first 1080p one), keyboard is enjoyable and, other than the fan regularly switching on for me and dip in performance the last few hours, the thing is pretty fast.

> 24 hourNice computer for a personal use computer. I havent had to have a personal computer in over 15 years, always having one given to me by my employer. It was down for a few weeks (sent for warranty repair) and I went stir crazy not being able to access online payments. I could have done it with a mobile phone, but I have that on me 24/7, sometimes its just nice to put the phone down.
