10802 Gel Plate 8X10

The plate has a good weight to it and is very nicely flexible. Wont tear easily if handled with care and does clean very easily. (baby oil for stains of color) The plate does a good job of enhancing the printmaking experience but the end results dont differ to much from traditional methods. In some cases given what you do to the gel plate it should pick up the image even more better than a traditional plate. Overall a very solid artist tool that helps if needed.

Im watching YouTube videos and taking on-line classes to learn how to use this different ways. Im having so much fun with it!

Easy and fun

Easy to use. Beautiful out come. Can be used with lots of different inks.

After doing 2 days of Gel Printing, taking a local class with others on Gel Printing, plus watching numerous videos out there, I discovered that I LOVE GEL printing on FABRIC or PAPER. With living in New Mexico I find some times the paint wants to dry fast, so I use just a little water spray to moisten the plate. Most if not all acrylic paints will work, I have a friend who is experimenting with water color, gauche, plant leaves, etc. You can also bring an old plate alive with using mineral oil. I enjoy quilting, card making so the Gel Printing will only add more enjoyment to my ART work. Enjoy

I like that its crystal clear unlike homemade gel plates. Also it works great. However, I was disappointed that it came with a damaged broken case. The case is very flimsy. The edges of the plate got dust in the case which was not tightly closed.

I ordered this Gell plate by accident, trying to order a Gelli plate brand name. It feels the same as my brand name Gelli plate, and creates, surprisingly just as well. It was an awesome value for the money! I will buy more of these products. Also, I did see that some people had bubbles in their plate, I purchased a brand name Gelli palate and it had the same bubbles thing, use the plate, the bubbles are surface only and disappear with a little pressure. I was able to use and enjoy with the same ease. I recommend this product to anyone who has never printed and is trying to save a few dollars. They literally are so similar, once out of the container you will not be able to tell them apart. I am very happy with my product. If you look at my prints, you cant tell the difference between the two plates that I used. I also tried both Artists Loft acrylics (very inexpensive) with Golden Open Acrylics (extremely expensive), both worked very similar. I will use the less expensive ones. I do use a good sturdy Bristol paper that can be bought in bulk, that is less expensive than art store paper. Have fun!

product was devoid of any bubbles. later one I saw a bubble or two, but they dont damage the work. great product.
