A simple way to give a base layer for our beardie habitat on a temporary basis. Will go to a substrate soon, but this cage carpet is excellent as far as quality and price. If you need one I recommend this product and seller. Quickly shipped too.

This is great product for snake habitats. This is way better than aspen, forest floor or any other bedding for snakes. I used to use forest floor bedding but it would take so long to clean and get everywhere. Then it was expensive compared to this carpet. Now i can just wash and let carpet dry. This pays for itself the first time compared to buying bedding over and over. Very easy to cut to custom fit your tank.

Not a perfect fit,

This fits perfect inside our 55 gallon tank. It will be much easier substrate to take care of than loose sand. I love that it is machine washable.

Um, what?? This does not even fit a 40 gallon tank. Its longer than the tank itself, yes, but almost half the width. Trimming pieces to fit in the empty spaces doesnt completely cover the tank, not even close. Did someone package a 30 gallon liner in a 55 gallon box or something? My tank is just a generic 40 gallon aquarium, 36x18.

If you havent seen or used Zoo Med Eco Carpet it is like a 1/8 thick piece of felt but made of a soft plastic fiber from recycled plastic containers. Its very well woven and fairly soft for a plastic product. It is washable and reusable when you clean your terrarium. I use it against the glass beneath a layer of aspen snake bedding. It prevents burning from an under the glass heater if my python decides to burrow or digs out a low spot in the bedding above the heater. Dont use an under glass heater without this or something like it or your snake or reptile could get hurt. My one complaint is not of the product, but the product description. They call it a 55 gallon tank size as if all 55 gallon tanks are built to the same dimensions, theyre not. The size stated in inches is for the packaging. The actual size of the piece of eco carpet is 47.5 x 12.5. My terrarium is actually larger then 55 gallons and deeper than this carpet so I cut the piece in half and overlap it in the middle to completely cover the heated side and have no carpet under the cool side. I have had no problems with my snake trying to burrow under the carpet.

This product did the job. I just don’t recommend it for a savannah monitor.
