My hermit crabs HATED this sand! They would climb just so they wouldnt have to be on the ground. I would not reccomend this sand to anyone!

This is dangerous to use alone in your hermit crab tank. I was cleaning my tank and found it had hardend like concret at the bottom where my crabs dig to molt. I read up on it on the Hermit Crab Association forum and people have lost crabs because this stuff has concreted around a molting crab and killed it

I love this sand. I have also used multiple colors. My crabs are comfy and happy with the sand as well. It stands up, there is no odor and it is worth the money for sure.

I purchased this since we do not live near a pet store. I was very disappointed in this it grows a mold in the corners even though the sand is stirred and it is in a store bought habitat. Would not recommend this item.

This sand feels nice at first then hardens up so my hermit crab cannot dig or cover himself when he wants to sleep

Just what I needed, I used it for a nautical lantern, it turned out great.

This stuff is really bad for hermit crabs. Hermits need the sand moist at all times, which this sand does not do well at all. It will often harden and clump, meaning if your hermit digs down into it to molt, it might not be able to get back out. It can also stick to them when they molt, embedding itself into their skin and killing them. Get play sand; it might not be as pretty, but it wont kill your pets
