> 24 hourI connect MBP 2017 and this monitor using USB 3.1 cable, nothing showing on the display. HDMI connector works well.

> 24 hourI bought this monitor specifically because it has an USB 3.1 C port, which would allow me to plug it directly into my IPad Pro 12.9 4th gen port. It played for a few moments then lost the signal. Then I saw that my USB-C port no longer worked, I could not charge my IPad, the port was dead. I called Apple and they made me an appointment at Best Buy. The tech there did a hard reset and it functioned again. His explanation was that the monitor was supplying an unacceptable current to the IPad. Apple has software that recognizes when this happen and shuts of the port to avoid damaging the tablet. A hard reset will bring the tablet’s port back to life. The tech said I should not use the monitor again. Also I could not use the buttons on the monitor to access the setup menu, all in all this thing was junk. Returned it to Amazon for a refund, no problem there at least. Amazon really stands behind whatever they sell.

> 24 hourOther reviews talk about the picture and the lack of a USB-C cable. They have heard and now include a 10Gb/s 1m long cable which works fine. The built-in speaker sound quality is not as good a the build-in late model MacBook Pro laptop, but is ok. The USB-C cable allows for the monitor to be almost be a docking station. After a month of our family using 2 of these monitors, Ive raised it to 5-stars.

> 24 hourGreat monitor. The USB-c connector is a game changer since I now have a single cable both charging my laptop and connecting it to the monitor.

> 24 hourI did hours of research before taking a chance on this monitor. I bought it as a second monitor for my new MacBook Air 2018, as my new Mac would not recognize my old monitor even with the correct adapter cord (I’m guessing it was too old and outdated?). I chose this product because it is USB-C compatible and based on the positive reviews. I nervously hooked it up using an Apple thunderbolt 3 cord ($39.99 on amazon) hoping my Mac would recognize it and — voila!! It worked beautifully. This monitor is not only perfectly compatible with MacBook Air 2018 but also has great resolution and some nice adjustment features - you can effortlessly move it up and down or swivel the screen side to side using the easy-to-assemble base. I highly recommend it!!

> 24 hourThis Viewsonic monitor is a terrific addition to any system. Large, bright, sharp, and clear picture. It’s easy to install, and works perfectly with my desktop. It’s also very reasonably priced for a monitor of this size and quality.

> 24 hourThere used to be a time when monitors were MUCH more expensive and thanks to the proliferation of options and increased technology, competitive prices have saved our wallets. But when it comes to selecting a monitor, the brand should also be taken into consideration because that is arguably the most important part of your computing process - you need to SEE what you are doing? ViewSonic has been around forever and its quality remains unchanged, and this monitor attests to the craftsmanship and value. The graphics are vivid and crisp, the construction of the monitor is sturdy, easy to assemble and set up - and being able to swivel the screen or flip it is what makes this SO AWESOME! This is a good monitor for your modest home office, an extra monitor for heavy-duty tasks where you need two screens, or even in my case where the screen on an old laptop is cracked and this has saved my work because I am now able to transfer it to another hard drive - I used the VGA output but there is also HDMI! Priced for holiday savings, this is a must have!

> 24 hourOverall this really is an outstanding monitor. Not the lowest cost, but not high either. The picture is crystal clear and that is the main thing. The stand is one of the best I have seen. Smaller footprint but sturdy and loaded with features. Also hats off to Viewsonic for the formed paper packaging instead of styrofoam. Very nice environmental touch and you deserve a star just for that. I hope that more companies go this route. There are a couple of issues I will list but mostly these are nitpiks. 1 - The finished side of the base faces the rear of the monitor. The less finished side faces the front. You will see this in any picture. The back facing of the base looks great but it really should be facing the front. 2 - The brightness needs to be turned up especially in a bright room. Not bad but it is a little dimmer naturally, so a higher brightness setting is needed. 3 - No Display Port cord. Personally I would rather it shipped with a DP cord than an HDMI cord, but that is me. It does come with the USB cord and USB - C cord, but that DP cord would have been a better option. I had to buy 2 for the dual monitor setup I use. Again these are really just nitpiks and nothing that would stop this monitor from receiving 5 stars.

> 24 hourThe monitor is ok, nothing fancy. I purchased it because it was supposed to support pass-through charging for my MacBook Pro so I could cut down on the cords on my desk, after reading some of the other reviews and tech questions it sounded like the monitor would but that appears not to be the case. I even purchased a 3.1 USB-C cord but no luck. I dont think this thing puts out enough power sadly.
