> 24 hourI purchased this projector for my home theater. It worked well for a few months but then I noticed spots appearing on the dark images during movies. I thought it was dust but it did not change when wiping the lense. After three manufacture exchanges from the same problem they could not fix I finally hit my one year mark. The problem was back on my latest exchange so I sent it into the warranty company and they also told me they could not fix it. I finally got my money back. Loved the projector when the picture was not spotted, 20% of the year I had all three of the same model. My space movies looked like J.J. Abrams Star Trek lense flares.

> 24 hourThis projector is amazing! It is bright as a TV in normal office light. I highly recommend for any setup and especially for the price.

> 24 hourI give this pro projector a one-star review until I receive my other one. The first one I received yesterday, came on once worked beautifully after installation and then after I turned it off it would never come back on again. I did all trouble shooting steps that I could manage to find online and still nothing. It powers up and then a red light comes on. The power light blinks twice and the machine powers back down. Hopefully the new one I have coming will work properly because the picture was beautiful.

> 24 hourGot this projector a little less than 2 years ago. Recently the picture started flickering. Lamp only has only run 1000 of the 5000 hours its rated for. Contacted customer service and have to pay $40 to send it in. A month later I get it back and the picture still flickers. I call customer service and they tell me I have to send it in again but they will pay shipping. Wait a week for an email with shipping info and still nothing. Finally call in and get told the lamp was the issue, but it only has a 1 year warranty not the 3 the rest of the projector has, so they just shipped it back to me as is without telling me what the problem was. They say they will send me a replacement lamp but they are out of stock and wont have any for at least 3 weeks. So I can either wait another month or pay $140 to a part reseller for a total of $180 to fix a 2 year old projector that cost $280 new. Do yourself a favor an look for a different brand.

> 24 hourI purchased this projector one year ago, and just opened the box to use it for a school graduation ceremony. I ended up using the schools antiquated projector (Sharp PG-F312x), because this Viewsonic would not project bright enough on the white, screen located above the childrens chairs. Later I decided to really see how well this Viewsonic projects within a variety of lighted settings. I brought the projector back to my classroom, and set it up 7.5-feet from a smart board. There, I projected the slideshow using the brightest setting, and then a standard setting. I adjusted the room lighting ranging from complete darkness (lights off, shades fully down), to full light (all three sections of lights on, shades up). I adjusted the rooms lighting to in-between settings to check the manufacturers claims. The Viewtronic is described as having very good projection in lit environments. Its also advertised as having good projection beyond 8-feet. What I found is that at 7.5-feet in a fully lit environment, it is impossible to see the projected image. Likewise, in a semi-lit environment the projection is nearly non-existent. In a fully dark environment, the image is good at best, but not super crisp and clear. (The projected image resembles a matte photo from the 1970s: a bit grainy.) Within this best lighting set-up, when moving the projector back beyond 8-feet I find you might as well have the audience crowd around your laptop to take turns viewing your presentation. Not a good machine at all.

> 24 hourWorked great for the 10 months that we’ve used it. It probably has about 1k hours of run time on it. At this point it continuously loses connectivity with the input source through the hdmi cord. I tried swapping the hdmi cord out with another one and the problem persists. Would t recommend only for the poor longevity of the machine.

> 24 hourI use this in my classroom to allow me to keep students separated as the number of Covid cases has once again risen. I have never had a new projector, so I finally gave up and purchased one through Donors Choose. I wish I did this 7 years ago. I use it with an HDMI cord and my iMac. The clarity at about 30 feet projection onto a portable screen is amazing. This allows me to provide my students demonstrations without having them on top of me or each other. I originally wanted a different model, but I have to assume things happen as they should! We are in heaven with this!

> 24 hourThis was actually a pretty good projector for what I used it for. The bulb was bright enough to use in a lit room and the resolution was great from a few feet away, but there were 2 main issues. First, there were a few spots on the lens which weren’t too noticeable when the lens was focused but it did leave a few blurred “shadows” on the picture and the sound was laughably low but that was easily rectified with a set of pc speakers. I used this maybe once a week since I got it in August and now in the beginning of December, it won’t stay on for more than a few seconds at a time. I have it connected to my Nintendo Switch and when it goes out, I can pick up the Switch and keep playing so I know it’s not an external device issue. The projector just shuts down and the red light next to the bulb icon and the heat icon start flashing red. It’s completely unacceptable to only be able to use it for a few seconds and this after having it for only 4 months. I would understand it dying if it’s been a few years, but come on...
