> 3 dayThis is, sadly, a very out of date item, one unduly expensive, although it is required by many math teachers in high school and on some standardized tests. Teachers please wake up, do what is best for your students, not what is easiest for yourself. An overpriced, expensive, calculator is not appropriate, particularly, when other free alternatives exist. Perhaps this was a good calculator some years ago. Today it is not. Texas Instrument is a great company, so its actions regarding its calculators are surprising. TI worked with textbook publishers to insure that TI oriented-exercises were included in math texts. It then lobbied to insure that calculators did not have QUERTY keyboards, touchscreens, or internet connections. That is, the company worked against those things that would make math concepts easier to understand, and applied math techniques more easily used. It continues to do so, now with claims that schools are not required to invest in Internet access if students use a TI calculator (rather than working to insure all schools have internet access). They, Texas Instruments, continue to take actions that are detrimental to the math community, and potential future mathematicians. The company should be ashamed about what it is doing to the future of mathematics, but, clearly, in this case profit wins out over the right thing to do. TI its time you applied your resources to became a fully responsible corporate citizen. This calculator works, but is more expensive and obtuse, considering the free on-line options The TI Nspire CX and CX II are more complicated, and less capable, considering alternatives. A simple free software graphing program, such as Desmos does the job, in my opinion, much better, as it provides a larger and more easily scalable screen. The TI calculators have not kept up with the world of laptops, desktops, or the internet. Nor have they adjusted prices to keep up with the lower cost of technology. The Nspire CX II CAS probably costs less than USD $15 to make. However, TI, in what appears an act of corporate greed, has not lowered its price since the Nspire was introduced, although technology has gotten less expensive. Thus, I gently suggest that you obtain a free graphing software package for you desktop or laptop, and pass on the Nspire CX II TI calculator. A graphing software package, and several are available and free, will allow you to learn math concepts more easily, and see graphs on a much larger screen, making them much easier to interpret. Not recommended!

> 3 dayI bought this calculator for my son who is a high-school sophomore. His teacher said they use a TI-Nspire in class. The calculator was new in the package and is an excellent calculator; however, it does so much I am not even sure how to use it and neither is my son. It has instructions with it but you can literally buy a book online for it. Unless you use this regularly, you wont be able to use it for geometry or significantly difficult math right out of the box. One plus though is it is allowed to be used during SATs and ACT testing. The TI-Nspire CAS is not allowed, so if you are buying a TI-Nspire calculator and want to be able to use it for testing, be sure you get the CX or CX II model. There may be other calculators permitted, but this one is definitely permitted. Once we learn how to use this, it will be a great little calculator. It has a great color display and comes with a slide on cover and cable so you can download your work to your laptop or PC.

> 3 dayMy son needed this calculator immediately and I had the hardest time trying to find it in stores where we live. I was worried about how long it would take to get it in the mail, but it arrived faster than I thought it would. We have no complaints when it comes to this purchase or product.

> 3 dayThe TI-Nspire CX II is not the most powerful calculator I own, nor does it have the most gentle learning curve. However, it is easy to learn to use, and the scratchpad makes performing quick or onetime calculations a breeze. What the handheld and student software offer together is a complete math learning platform that revolves around the document concept, and that also integrates well with classroom/teacher tools. The math instructor can tailor an entire math program around the calculator handheld and student software and, if desired, have students perform all homework, quizzes, exams, and lecture work on those tools. The combination modernizes math instruction and potentially eliminates handouts and traditional homework assignments. The flexibility of the TI-Nspire tools goes well beyond the single-purpose scientific graphing calculator, and becomes a complete and integrated instruction and learning platform. Beyond the world of learning, the TI-Nspire series, especially the CAS model, are more than suitable as math tools for professionals, including use in branches of science and engineering. Programming languages available as part of the Nspire, and ample RAM, mean the calculator can become a powerful computing platform. With the addition of Vernier DataQuest and numerous sensors available for that system, the handheld can become a fully functional data capture and analysis tool, making lab work in science and engineering more engaging. If this sounds like a paid advert for TI, I apologize. I am actually an HP calculator fan. But this calculator/system looked so interesting I had to give it a try. I have been rewarded with satisfaction I did not expect...I found the completely integrated math tool I was hoping HP would one day develop; they were partially successful. But TI, with their recognition in the education system in the US, beat HP to a complete and polished solution, and the Nspire is as it was intended to be, Nspiring.

> 3 dayThe package came damaged but the calculator was fine. I just wished that for the price they would have treated it with better care. Overall it works like a regular ti calculator. I am just taking off one star for the damaged Package. Great calculator!
