Greater than one weekThese headphones are almost like over-ear monitors with how well they reproduce sound. For a fraction of the cost of higher-grade headphones, they reproduce sounds quite well with great articulation across the entire audible spectrum. Yes, even as low as 20Hz frequencies, if you listen closely you can hear them, not loudly, but they are audible. What this means is that these headphones wont give you thundering, distorted bass response when listening to all kinds of music. After owning them for nearly 2 years I can safely say that they are my favorite pair of headphones and I will be sad when they eventually give up the ghost. They fit great on my head with the adjustable headband and the soft ear cups mean I can wear them all day, even with glasses on. But after nearly 2 years, some weaknesses are starting to show, mainly that the soft foam on the headband has ever so slightly started to detach and the adhesive has grabbed a few hairs making them a bit painful to take off my head.

> 3 dayVery comfortable but they are not meant for gaming. No directional sound, not loud, soft bass, and disappointing. My brother recommended these, saying this brand is the best. Even playing music, the sound was underwhelming. I think if you want the best, get a mix amp with it. But other than that, I don’t recommend it. Very expensive for what you get.

> 3 dayExcellent sound. Great resolution and soundstage. Also have very good bass when EQed. They have a little bit of clamp right above the ear, but you can just use the box to break them in. Takes about 72 hrs.

> 3 dayThey sound tinny and unnatural. I bought it as a present for someone and they said it sounded terrible. I tried them and was negatively surprised by how weird they sound. They are made in China so maybe Sennheiser is losing their quality and is just trying to mass produce over hyped products. The sound signature of some of Sennheisers headphones may just not be for me. Sound is very subjective but these just sound weird, maybe I need a DAC or an amp to improve them or EQ them but out of the box they sound really bad. Maybe these headphones are too analytical for me which is why I find them hard to listen to for a long period of time. Build quality is ok but I am sick of Sennheisers all plastic builds because they feel so cheap. If you get the chance to try them in person definitely do so before purchasing.

30-10-2024A little background on my experiences with studio headphones in general: Ive really struggled to find a good pair over the years that accomplished exactly what I was looking for and gave me a good way to monitor mixes when I dont have access to full studio monitors (which is, most of the time.) Ive tried both closed-backed and open-backed variants of reference headphones and had mixed results with pretty much every one of them. These however, I havent found a single issue with in terms of sound and results. Theyre extremely natural to my ears, and are very crisp and clear. To me, they dont have this huge, binaural-eseque soundstage to them compared to some other open-backed sets Ive tried, but their openness does lend to everything sounding more clear and separate compared to the closed sets Ive used, for sure. And Id venture to say they are the most comfortable variant of open back sets Ive worn as well. Ever since I purchased these Ive noticed subtle mixing choice differences I have made in recent projects that have really elevated how consistent my tracks sound on various devices, in my experience - if I can get something to sound good on these, theyll sound great on everything else I try, and phenomenal on my listening sets of choice! I wouldnt say these offer anything spicy in terms of sound, or lean at all in the fun side of things. But for analytical use? These rock.

> 3 dayPurchased to go with a hyperx quadcast. With the included adaptor I can run the wire along the mic boom with wire to spare and they sound perfect. And they have just enough bass. Not goofy and not like a pure mid monitor headphone. Just enough. Super comfy afwell.

Greater than one weekIve owned plenty of high end, mid-range, low end headphones, and these are by far the most annoying sounding headphones Ive ever encountered. Even using a dedicated headphone amp to drive these, the high frequency sounds harsh and overpowers the overall sound.. I have to turn it way down. I ended up having to buy a dedicated EQ device to be able to TOLERATE using these headphones. I suppose if youre over 70 years old and no longer hear anything above 7 or 8khz youll probably be ok with these :)
