Use mine everyday to edit video on multiple machines. It’s great for that, with a small patch of Velcro it can be stuck on the back of a laptop screen or the side of a tower for convenience. A little pricey but I totally love it

The USB cables are quite short so I must put the drive right on top of the desktop; the cable will not reach the keyboard or the top of my desk. I use this as a backup drive and every few weeks I back up top-level folders that have changed. I did not use the Samsung software.

A really small solid state HDD. It performs well for my purposes.

beautiful little lightweight drive. Very fast read and write which is great for editing my 4K videos and RAW image files. I recently lost all my photos from a trip to Japan filming winter wildlife, I was storing the clips and images on a new portable drive, I will not name, but has a bright orange rubber protector on it, making it more rugged Well it totally fell apart after 2 months, all files lost. This SSD drive was recommended by a computer expert that writes many of the software programs used today. With basically no moving parts, the SSD has much less chance of failure. Also much lighter for travel then the rugged unit that fell apart after a few months of light use. I actually bought a second Samsung at the same time, the 2T, for double back up and extra storage.
