I did a lot of research particularly because it does not have a built in memory buffer, but it seems to meet all the remarks which were very favorable. My system came with a Samsung 512Gb ssd and I needed a larger drive, so I decided to stay with Samsung and this was the least expensive of the 1Tb MVNe PCIe drive in the Samsung range and so far it has exceeded my expectations.

I like the performance of this M.2 and the brand. not the latest/greatest in terms of read/write speed and storage. but still really good for any mid range personal PC or gaming laptop. and not too difficult to install yourself, just look up how to video before and during the install for reference. and your golden

The recommended installation software, Samsung Magician, does not recognize the new Samsung SSD, so unable to clone old hard drive to new SSD. I read in other reviews that this problem has been going on since at least June of 2021 and Samsung still has no answers. I think this is a much bigger issue than the missing mounting screw.

Buy another model no driver available for this model!!

I purchased the Samsung 980 M.2 and it was dead on arrival , I have tried several times to get in touch with Samsung and all i get is the RUNAROUND , This is my first time having to deal with Samsung Customer Service for as many times as I have purchased Samsung products I think i will choose another company to go with !! Still 3 weeks later i have contacted samsung and no help since then i went to western digital no problems i guess when a company gets so BIG that their customers are not worth their support !!

Products what I expected. Amazon once again falls a peg down in quality because they cant even bother having the shipping details provide the updates to their system. Instead they have their system state it has been majorly delayed AFTER the order is processed and shipped with its estimated 2-3 prime shipping. Thus they state it will arrive 2 and a half weeks late but the tracking confirmed it was on time... Proves Amazon has gone backwards as I remember the good old days where there system would simply link the tracking updates instead of give you blanket delay messages.

M.2 SSDs are blazing fast over the over SATA SSD. They are about 5x faster. Add the fact that the are connected directly to the motherboard means that there is no need for SATA and power cables for the drive.
