> 3 dayIve been using a 250 GB 970 EVO for a few years now as my Windows disk and to house some smaller games. Performance had been magnificent so when I decided to replace an aging HDD for my large games I decided to stick with Samsung and went with this 980 PRO.

> 3 dayThis Samsung 980 Pro PCI-E 4.0 Gen4 M.2 Nvme Drive is so far the fastest Drive I have used so far... I have the 500GB Version installed in my M.2 Slot #1 (out of 3 total) that is dedicated to store my Windows 10 Pro x64 Operating System plus basic Programs... My startup time is mere seconds and everything is super fast... Highly Recommend this drive... was able to get around 6,900MB/s Read & 5,000MB/s Write Speeds using some benchmark software tho I didnt get screenshots... I could in the future I suppose but anyway this Drive is extremely fast... I am very big with Sabrent Brand Storage media personally due to their high speeds, new technology, & cheaper pricing vs Samsung however this 980 Pro was on sale at the time so I grabbed it and it performs exceptionally well...

Greater than one weekI completely slipped up purchasing a NUC with a HDD for a drive a couple of yrs ago (instead of a machine with a SSD). Had been meaning to upgrade for some time now and had been on the fence about the expense vs the how much faster will my computer be? thing. Also, I am not computer savvy, so, I also was procrastinating b/c I didnt want to mess with my computers internals.

> 3 dayMy PC has an old Asus AMD M5A99FX MB (but no onboard M.2 slots). So I bought a “AMPCOM M.2 NVME SSD to PCIe 4.0 Adapter Card” to allow me to put this NVMe in an available PCIe 2.0 x4 slot on the MB. Worked well as any disk should, in Win 11, but was not bootable (not the problem of the SSD or the adapter card) this was an issue with the old BIOS, which did not support booting a NVMe type of drive. The fix is getting an upgraded BIOS (not available on the MB manufacture BIOS updates site). Solution - I bought a “ BIOS patched for NVMe booting” and problem is solved. Even on my PCIe 2.0 backplane I got a significant bump in performance, see attached pictures, with all related info.

> 3 dayThis was so easy to install. I’m not a very computer parts tech savvy girl and this was so easy to install and then my PlayStation 5 did the rest. Now, instead of having to move PS5 games to and from and external hard drive I can have them all on my PS5 without issue. I bought this over lesser priced and lesser known brands because I wanted a company I trust in Samsung to avoid any potential issues with my PS5

> 3 dayI had originally gone with a WD Black 850X for my PS5 since it has such great reviews. Unfortunately, I either got a dud or my PS5 just wasnt compatible with it. I had tried everything suggested in threads as well to make it work, to no avail. Then, I got this lil diddy and boy oh boy, it makes the world of difference with no more headaches or unexpected shut offs! Im able to transfer and download any and all games I choose right to this SSD. Plus, once formatted from the start, it shows to have the whole 2tb of data available. This one worked wonders for me and Im glad the reviews were correct about the performance of the Samsung 980 Pro. Others may have similar problems depending on the company the SSD is from, but this one worked just right for me.
