Guys the item is as advertised, when checking the firmware because 980 pro 2tb ssds had issues with failiures because of problems with old firmware, the ssd came with the latest version of firmware, my ps5 finally has breathing space and no update was neccessary , would buy again....

After owning a PS5 since thanksgiving launch window. I always struggled with the system’s memory having a disc console only helped a little as even disc based games still require space on the ssd. The pain of having to constantly delete games to make space for new ones, and in some cases just to fit a games update got old pretty quickly. But initially the price to expand storage was just a little to steep to justify. But alas with more companies making the ssd that’s ps5 compatible the price was destined to drop. So when I saw a 2TB Samsung 980 pro for $179 I had to jump on it. Let me just say it was super easy install/format and now I have all my digital and disc games with plenty of breathing room for new ones and updates.

So, I have been using this memory since may 2022 and I have to say that everything has been all right. Of course the most important thing before you buy is trying to review most options you may have, and that’s what I did and went for the most cost effective option.

Bought this a couple of days ago when it was on sale for $159 and it came the next day. The install process for the PS5 was really simple as well. As soon as I booted up the console it prompted me to format the stick. A couple of minutes later it was ready to go. Speed is just as advertised, around 6500MB/s. Immediately copied most of my larger games to it and its been working perfect so far!

First off its not as fast as the Hynix P41 so if theyre at a similar price Id get that one. I have both in my system. That said its likely faster than you will ever need. While in theory the fast transfer speeds as outlined in CrystalDisk, for photo and 4K video editing Ive never really gone past a few hundred MB/s so its all overkill. Im mainly using this drive for paging files and cache and eventually to store video projects Im actively working on before I move them back to HDDs for storage.

Lots if storage space so I dont have to delete previous games. Anyone can install this, be sure you get the one with heat sink.

This is perfect if you want more storage, but you also don’t want to pay $300+ for it. Very easy to I stall. Nothing to really complain about. I’m sure it’s not perfect but for the price, it’s a five star product.
