Very happy with the Samsung EVO Plus NVMe SSD. From my experience with SSDs in the enterprise, this drive should last a long time. I am storing music and pictures on a pair of Seagate drives, but running the OS, LightRoom and On1 on this drive, have a crucial SSD running the rest of the apps and I have plenty of room to spare for future applications with performance needs in the future. I primarily got this for photo processing.

Of the 6 units we purchased, 1 was failing to register on the PCIe bus. Contacted Samsung warranty support and they had me mail it to NJ. They claimed it needed a firmware update and gave it a clean bill of health and sent it back. So we put it in a server and two weeks later it died again taking 1.5TB of customer data. I contact warranty support and they say they won’t help with recovery of the lost data. So I lost a fortune here and they could care less. Hiding behind their policies after trashing my business.

I replaced a 1TB Western Digital SN550 with this 2TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus drive. One of the major differences is that this Samsung has DRAM, which greatly assists with speed and reduces wear and tear on the drive extending its life.

this took some work to get it to work with my Alienware 17r4, but after getting it to work it is much faster than the old internal hard drive.

Samsung SSDs are pretty much the only drives Ive used. Besides the WD Black M.2 Samsung has earned its place in my systems for all storage solutions. Reliable, priced right, durable and fast!
