I have ordered three of these in the last couple of months to upgrade pcs to SSD. The Samsung migration software is really great to clone an internal hard drive to an SSD through the usb port.

just to warn anyone that thinks SSD is the wonder tech that will replace mechanical HDs is living a pipe dream

It hasnt fail me yet, mypast experience with Samsung SSD is I never have issue. Although this SSD read write speed is slower then those of M.2 SSD, it very reliable since M.2 I have problem sometimes they disconnect. I used this for main OS and some light program on the computer. So being

Not all of the 870 QVOs have firmware issues but if yours does you will know cause it deletes everything! And u either have reinstall or clone previous drive. It happened three times on my PC and twice on the ps4 so I gave up and returned it. I have read many articles that state the same, so it all depends on luck of the draw or date of manufacture. I heard it can depend on the date as well. Good luck and hope you have more than I did with this drive. I’m still looking for a drive to use, this is the only 8tb I can find.

I use this on my gaming pc and connect it using a SATA-to-USB cable. I was a bit concerned with this configuration as it’s not directly mounted in the box, but it works flawlessly! I ran some performance and speed tests against this drive compared to my internal drive, also an SSD, and they are actually quite similar. This drive has a slightly higher delay but that can be expected given how it is connected.

All ssd are easy to install, depending how your system is set up. I use mine for gaming and greatly improved my gaming experience.

It appears to be working well. I have only used it for a few hours. I like how small and light it is compared to HDD. It fit in the tray to may computer case well with plenty of extra space.
