> 3 dayI need to image off a failing platter HD in a laptop (powered up since 2013). I have used Samsung SSD since they were $100s for 250GB. This looked good; recommended update by Amazon; touts Magician exporting out content and a simple replacement. But Magician(v6.2.1 current on 21/02/08/) lists 870 EVO as NOT SUPPORTED. I figured out of date docs. Nope; not recognized, no offloading function listed.

> 3 dayI do a lot of repairs and OS reinstalls for friends and family. Upgrading to an SSD has breathed new life into a lot of computers.

> 3 daySamsung had a bunch of these go out with bad firmware. Both of these failed within a year, with a ton of read errors prior. When they failed, everything was gone - partitions, data, everything. These will be the last Samsung drives I ever buy. Its just unacceptable that theyd let these out the door. The Internet is loaded with stories of these failing and Samsung just running people around in circles over warranty (as per typical for them). Sad.
