Must use Samsung Data Migration software to clone! I tried with Aomei, kept failing. Used Samsungs software and it worked like a charm! Its free so get and Samsung magician for monitoring and drive dashboard. This drive has a 0% failure rate both in the field testing and lab!

Excellent drive for the money. We upgraded a lot of older PCs with Samsung 860 drives and they really added to performance and extended the life of the machines. No failures after several years. I bought this to replace a 5400rpm drive in an old Toshiba laptop and performance was substantially increased.

This is ~5th Samsung SSD installation over the past 5 years. All have been really straightforward installations. Assuming youve already verified that this disk fits in your laptop via Amazons or going to the Samsungs website or going to your laptops HP/Dell/Lenovo website and look at the size and SATA interface type (or their offering for replacing your disk). YouTube is GREAT for finding out how to open up your laptop. Before buying the disk, I recommend that you watch the installation video FIRST to make sure it is within your skillset and toolset. The scary ones are the ones that require you to pry the shell open and I always worry that Ill break the tabs off or that Im pushing when I should be pulling. Anyway, besides the worry, all my installations have gone well. The migration software is pretty simple. I use a USB-SATA cable (~8) to hook up the new drive. You choose the old drive, you choose the new drive, then hit GO. All in all, I highly recommend the Samsung SSDs. Make sure you install the Magician software. I really dont do much with it other than check the performance. These are solid disks with expected speed and longevity and ease of installation. I have NO negative issues with it. Oh, last minute reminder; test your old disks speed before replacing it. Stopwatch how long it takes to get to the first logo, time to get to the windows desktop and (somewhat subjectively) time to get an app (like a browser) to paint its opening page. The opening page times changed from 2 mins 10 secs to 41 secs. Some of these laptops are older i3 laptops so that arent as fast as my i7 laptop that boots in < 10 secs, but they all run WAY FASTER. Buy one. Good and cheap!

This SSD will drastically improve the performance of your pc or laptop if you are currently using a mechanical HDD. I accidentally bought the QVO and was impressed with it. I decided to throw it into my laptop and buy the EVO for my desktop and was not disappointed.

Bought one about 6 months ago for my desktop easy to install and cloned my old drive with a few clicks. So good I bought one for my daughters laptop highly recommend this.

I work in IT and Im a big fan of Samsungs SSDs. Theyve proven themselves over the years with their speeds and reliability. I bought this small 250GB to revive an old MacBook that I got cheap on eBay and holy, it brought it from near-death to zooming. The MacBook had a failing 7 year old hard drive in it and this thing brought it back to life and then some. It made my 2012 MacBook Pro feel a few generations newer. I upgraded the RAM too but this thing made a significant difference as I knew it would.
