This product is misleading. It only works on the base of the seat belt buckle that goes into the car. It will not prevent the child from unbuckleing his car seat harness and getting out of the car seat. Hell get out of the seat but the seat will stay buckled to the car. Thats so dumb and pointless.

Don’t understand what the longer piece is for but the part to cover the seatbelt button is the best easy to install and even easier to uninstall takes seconds to take off if needed and as for my son trying to get it off he’s tried so hard but he can’t get it undone and yes you can use any key to uninstall

When we made the switch to a booster seat my son would not leave the seatbelt on. The minute I put the car in drive he’d unlatch the belt. Not anymore! Just be sure to keep toys with tails away as they will figure out how to push the button. Other than that this is a life saver! I’m buying another for my older daughter just because her brother now tries to unbuckle her.

I bought this because I have a 7 year old who independently buckles herself into the car and she sits right next to a car seat that is secured using the cars belt buckle system. I was concerned that my daughter might unknowingly unbuckle the seatbelt that secures the car seat when trying to unbuckle herself. I realize the ultimate solution is to check to make sure the car seat is secured by the car seatbelt buckle every time I put my child into the 5-point harness car seat. Unfortunately, if Im capable of accidentally driving down the road before realizing I forgot to buckle my baby (true story at least once), I dont trust myself to remember to check the car seat every time. So, I wondered if there was a way to protect me from this situation. Of course, yes, a product exists! I installed the car seat with this in place. It works exactly as expected and weve had no unbuckling incidents. The only downside is you need a key or something small/flat to insert into the lock when you want to release the car seatbelt (I dont believe it came with such a tool). In the event of an emergency, I think I would be nervous to have one of these installed on a child who uses the car seatbelt directly. But I understand sometimes its necessary for those who have a child that will not keep the seatbelt fastened otherwise. Overall, I would recommend this product! I am happy for this invention and the added protection it provides my family.

I have a 8 year old son with autism. We recently switched from harness mode to high back booster mode with his car seat. He kept unbuckling his seat belt on the high way or in town and my husband and I were constantly pulling over to buckle him back in. He even climbed into the passenger seat. I purchased two of these (one for my car, and one for my husbands car) and they arrived in two days. Very easy to use and they work!!!! Our son is unable to unbuckle himself. We use are car keys to unlock his seat belt. Easy. My only complaint is that you have to store it somewhere until ready to use it again and it could get losses. Weve been storing them in our cars hidden. Lol. I will be buying one more for his grandmas car.

My dog kept stepping on the seatbelt latch and releasing the belt. This gadget prevents that.

For 20+ years, from the time our profoundly cognitively impaired son outgrew his car-seat, weve been dealing with awkward and expensive harness systems. For all his impairments, undoing a seat belt seemed to come naturally to him. Hes 29 now, and the Mama is not a spring chicken anymore: it was getting really challenging to deal with the harness on a 61 young man. I saw this gizmo, and for $12, I thought Id give it a try. And it works!! A little awkward putting it on the seat belt receptacle the first time with him helping me with the seatbelt, but once I got him to leave it alone, it was easy as pie. We love this thing! Just bought another one for when we inevitably lose it somewhere. I want to have one always at the ready.
