> 3 dayThis series has its own way of telling the classic story. You will read many times in the reviews that it stands alone because it really does. Acting was great, story line was incredible and Paris was stunning.

Greater than one weekPerhaps that happened because this one was only 2 episodes. LOL Seriously, I could not get into either the Bates Motel or Hannibal. Am I forgetting another one? With 2 episodes, you cant run into some of the problems I had that kept me from caring much about the others. While it was entertaining enough, I cannot see this ever having accomplished what the film did, had this been the only adaptation of the book. There really was nothing that gripping. The ending did what I figured it would: showed you the baby. And there was nothing much to see. This show was ultimately unnecessary but then again, I say that about 99.9% of remakes. The rationale bothers me even more than they do. The idea that a film needs to be updated for younger generations to discover it is just a rationale for laziness. Do books get rewritten every so often for younger generations? No. Do other countries remake their classics for younger generations? No. Nor do they remake English speaking movies in their language! Do many movies outside the horror genre get remade? No. Its all excuses. For laziness. If your mind cant stretch enough to accommodate the cultural and historical context that a movie is set in, which also happens to lend it its meaning and power, then thats mental laziness. Since the late 1990s, when remakes became de rigueur cash cows, the only films that were made more than once were done in the spirit of homage and as an opportunity to play with iconic images and themes. Like Dracula. Many filmmakers felt like it was a rite of passage to do their Dracula. The only remake I really cared for was Cape Fear. While I love Robert Mitchum, and Night of the Hunter is tops, I found the latter Cape Fear to be more tense. Since the remake frenzy began, US made horror films have become increasingly unimaginative. Mental laziness leads to atrophy of the imagination.

> 3 dayZoe Saldana was excellent as Rosemary. I honestly wasnt sure what to expect, but she I think she is always excellent in the parts she plays. I was surprised to find myself crying a couple of times, as I know the story so well from seeing it multiple times when Mia Farrow played the part. But she just caused me to be there with her. A couple of the other actors I felt overplayed their hand a bit however I realize that it is a hard line to walk, to make it creepy without becoming over fawning.

Greater than one weekI love this version better than the original for the simple reason that Rosemarys baby looks human NOT like a scaly creature with demonic eyes and hooves and claws.
