Noctua NH-U12S chromax.Black, 120mm Single-Tower CPU Cooler (Black)

I bought the Noctua NH-12S as a replacement for a Be Quiet! Pure Rock 2 cooler but I was very disappointed with the performance. The cooling capacity and the quietness of the Noctua is no better than the Pure Rock 2 and it costs less than half the price. The NH-12S may be a bit easier to install but removing it from a AM4 CPU is problematic as the crossbar fouls the threaded studs on the brackets attached to the back plate, so it is necessary to unscrew the brackets before twisting the cooler to prevent ripping out the CPU. There are positives such as the fan clips are very easy to attach and it certainly looks good. I thought with Noctuas reputation for quality it would be much better. If it were priced £40-£50 it would be a much better buy, but at the current price a couldnt recommend it

Purchased this to replace a loud H60 Corsair for a intel 2600k, I know ancient. This thing runs super quiet for a air cooler, I’m amazed , I over clocked to 4.5Gz and still only max out at 68C the case has two inlet 120mm and one exit 140mm fan on top. I will probably add another cooler fan for funzies but I dont really need it to overclock more, this thing is really well made. The install bracket is far superior to the Corsair which uses standard standoffs. Noctua waited way to long to to come out with this color and it is really nice.

I was using an H100i but I wanted better temps so I moved to an air cooler and I had a hard time picking one but I went with this single tower cooler and it has been amazing not only are temps under full load maxing at around 87c with my 3900x at 4.5 GHz compared to the 95+ on my h100i.

The Wraith Spire is a good cooler, just a little noisy for me since my computer is sitting on the desk right next to me. I have been doing folding and my CPU was hitting 94c. With the NH-U12S I am hitting 88c and the noise levels are much better (with the single fan it comes with). Super easy to install!

Warning, they have modified the base plate assembly for LGA1700 socket with plastic clips that can break!

First off, I like to congratulate Noctua for embracing aesthetics improvements to their coolers. With matt black finish and black fan designs, I am certain that it will be one of the most popular air coolers. And with Noctuas credibility in the air cooler scene, buyers can be sure of the cooling potential.

Easy to install on AM4 and fits the same backplate that comes with 3600x. Add the spacers (box contents clearly shows bits for each platform) and brackets then screw cooler to brackets. Hardest part was removing old stock cooler, it was stuck to the CPU and so needed some clockwise ‘wiggle’.

Comme beaucoup jai succombé au charme de lAIO, un msi 240R. Après à peine un an il ne refroidissant plus rien, souci de pompe et cristallisation. Bref, retour aux bases avec un ventilateur et cest le jour et la nuit. Quasi plus de bruit, 20 degrés décart avec mon AIO même au meilleur de sa forme. Sur un 5600x je suis à 35 en idle et max 70 en gaming, bref su tout bon.

A bit expensive then other, but perfect quality and no sound fan.
